These delightful holiday cottages, The Burrow (UK3287) and The Warren (UK3289) within Conygre Farm, a working arable farm, are situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Pewsey Vale. These former farm buildings have been converted into great holiday accommodation with bags of character and are perfect for a getaway in a rural retreat. Careful thought has gone into the look and style of the interiors, mixing the traditional with the modern to elegant effect. Plus there is the added attraction of the integral indoor heated swimming pool, easily accessible from each cottage, and with The Burrow and The Warren, you don’t even have to step outside. Conygre Farm has 360 degree views of countryside and Pewsey Vale, and plenty of walks on its land. The area is rich in prehistoric archaeological sites such as Avebury, Stonehenge and Silbury Hill, and the UNESCO World Heritage City, Bath, is within an hour’s drive, as is Oxford and Salisbury. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
Properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 13 guests.

We choose Burrow cottage for a short family gathering. Ideally located between London and Bristol where our daughters respectively live (we, ourselves live in Burgundy, France), the cottage offers the cosy comfort we all needed on a very dull and wet November weekend. It was hard to leave the swimming pool and the wood stove that we all appreciated and go to visit the area rich of interesting villages and town, nice pubs... We follow the advice of the owner of the farm and went to Avebury. What a good choice! It was a far too short stay and we all said that we would like to come back for a longer time. The one of us who was the most unhappy to leave was definitely our 3 year old grand daughter who thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, including the delicious home made cake we found on the table.

When booking for a late summer getaway, we look for an indoor swimming pool and a location that takes dogs, and The Burrow ticked both boxes, plus Wiltshire is a place we have not visited before. On arrival there was tea bags, milk and a home made (delicious) cake waiting for us on the table, and after unloading the car it was lovely to be able to get the kettle on and chill after our 5 hours journey. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the kitchen was one of the best equipped I have seen with many pots and pans and bowls etc (I need not have taken my own lasagne pan or cheese grater!) There was a spare fridge and a small shared freezer just across in the games room, and this meant we were able to take frozen food with us and not have to shop straight away on arrival. Three nice sized bedrooms, and the open plan living space meant that whoever was cooking was still involved in the group. The dishwasher was a nice plus too! The water is from a bore on the farm and is the nicest tap water I have had in a long time, and the water pressure in the shower is excellent. The swimming pool is not the largest but is plenty big enough to swim, and having an interconnecting door off the kitchen area meant no running outside to get there and back! The underfloor heating was lovely ( I want it!) and the cottage was plenty warm enough, so much so that we had the door open most of the week in spite of the cold and rain that we had for a lot of our week. Gay and Francis were lovely, and on arrival Gay went and found an extending dog pen for us to clip to the French doors so we could have the door open and the dogs wander in and out which was such a help. The parking is close to the cottage so not far to walk and you are free to walk around the farm fields. If I had to find a negative (and it was hard) it would be that the other cottage lounge backs onto the double bedroom, which can mean a little bit of noise but other than that I really cannot fault The Burrow. I have seen some reviews which said that here and there things looked a little 'tired' well yes, the bottom of the door could have a new coat of varnish but if that is something that would spoil your holiday then you need a holiday because you are stressing too much!! All in all, it was the perfect getaway for us, chilling, playing cards, doing jigsaws reading, walking the dogs round the fields, and recharging the batteries.

A very enjoyable stay, cottage was clean and tidy, on arrival we were presented with a home made cake and tea and milk, which was a lovely gesture from Gaye who came to make sure we had settled in okay, my grandson enjoyed playing in the pool which was assessable from the cottage, whilst a play room was just across from the cottage front door, plenty of places on the farm to go walking with or without the dogs, Francis was busy doing his farming work but still stopped what he was doing to say hello and make sure all was well, all in all a enjoyable relaxing peaceful time was had by all and we will certainly return in the near future.

Lovely little cottage with everything we needed. Very friendly hosts very welcoming and very helpful. Great that we had direct access to the perfect swimming pool, which was lovely and warm, our 2 6 year olds loved it! Comfortable and clean. Great location in lovely countryside surrounded by pretty villages. Great for Stonehenge and Longleat and if you have children under 12 4 Kingdoms Adventure is great.
