There are pubs and restaurants within walking distance down in the village, where you can also visit Trefriw Woollen Mill. Many walks start from the cottage door into the Gwydyr Forest which is a forest of lakes and mountains, and you can even walk round the delightful Llyn Crafnant lake, just 2½ miles away. The picturesque village of Betws-y-Coed, known as the Gateway to Snowdonia, is just 6 miles where there is a range of individual shops and Zip World Fforest treetop nets. The renowned Marin Bike Trail is a 5-mile ride away. The pretty market town of Llanrwst is worth a visit to see the bridge across the River Conwy which dates from 1636, along with the adjacent and much photographed Tu Hwnt I’r Bont tea room. Just 5 minutes’ drive north lies Surf Snowdonia – the first artificial surfing lagoon in the world. If surfing’s not your thing, you can grab a coffee and marvel at the surfing action! Further north is the National Trust’s Bodnant Garden, historic Conwy with its Edward I castle and town walls, and the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno and the Great Orme. Beach 15 miles.
