Kitchen/dining room: With double electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, Freeview TV and beams.
Shower room: With shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.
First Floor:
Living room/bedroom: With Freeview TV, double bed and beams.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Private parking for 1 car on pub car park, 50 yards away. No smoking.

This cute Grade II listed, terraced cottage was built around 1760 and was used as the towns cobblers shop from 1856 to just after WWII. The current owners have created a lovely space and are passionate about preserving the history of the cottage, and this is a great base from which to enjoy everything this fabulous area has to offer. The bedroom and living space are on the first floor, and a well-equipped kitchen/dining and a shower room are on the ground floor. The cottage is steeped in history, with every hook, nail and beam telling a story. With the property being a former cobblers shop, grocers, hairdressers, florist, greengrocers, children’s clothes shop, map shop and an antiques shop, there are plenty of stories to tell.

Upton-upon-Severn is famous for its many annual festivals held around the year including jazz, blues, folk and other music festivals. The town has a heritage centre, the Tudor House Museum and also boasts its own marina for members and visitors. The cottage is in an extremely convenient position, with a butchers opposite and being practically in the centre, with many pubs along the riverside, quirky and independent shops, cafés and restaurants for you to enjoy if you don’t want to travel.

The Severn Way almost passes by the front door, however there is so much to see in the surrounding area. The Malvern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a mere 5 miles away and The Cotswolds, with its many quintessential towns and villages, is a short drive. The Elgar Route, which inspired Elgar to compose some of his greatest music, passes along the town to his birthplace museum. The cathedral cities of Gloucester and Worcester are close by, as are the towns of Tewkesbury, Pershore and Evesham. Stay for a few days or for a week in this beautiful cosy cottage in the heart of Upton-upon-Severn. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

This is best described as a compact and bijou cottage. Downstairs is a well equipped kitchen, dining area and shower room and upstairs is the living and sleeping accommodation. Space is at premium and is generally well used. The cottage was scrupulously clean and has all of the equipment and amenities you need for a short stay. My only request would be for a washing machine, especially if staying for more than seven days, but space is tight. Upton is a busy little town with plenty of shops and places to eat out. It's also conveniently located for Gloucester, Worcester and even Cheltenham. The cottage is just off the High Street, so don't expect it to be rurally quiet. There is a very handy car park with a clearly marked allocated space within a short walk. Overall, it's a rather unique and charming cottage which I'd thoroughly recommend.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your nice review. With regards to your comment about the lack of a washing machine, we were advised by Cottages.com that our guests would prefer to have the use of a dishwasher, we felt that this was sound advice given the limited space available. We are really pleased you enjoyed your stay.

Stayed here for 6 nights. Perfect location for exploring the surrounding areas. Very nice town with shops restaurants etc. The quirky historical place to stay is perfect for a couple, like us, who just wanted to relax totally. Small cosy and yet has all you need for a peaceful stay. Think of all those programmes on tiny homes brilliant idea. Very clean and welcoming the hosts have obviously put a lot of thought into it. The biscuits on arrival were perfect after a long drive. I have no doubt this accommodation will soon be fully booked all year. Notice the owners hoping to get planning permission, listed building, to do more which will only make it even better.

Wow, a beautiful place to stay! Great location, with a handy private parking bay. The cottage itself was immaculate and the interior finish is to a high standard, a warm and cosy welcome on a dreary November evening. We could not find fault with anything in this cottage, everything is so well thought out in this cottage, cant wait to visit again!

We found the cottage to be comfortable, cosy, and was well supplied with everything we needed. Loved the history of the cobblers cottage and enjoyed fresh bacon rolls from the butchers over the road. Would stay there again.
