A great little place for families. Well stocked kitchen for utensils and crockery. Warm and inviting atmosphere and very comfortable beds. We met one of the owners who was helpfulness itself. It has everything you could want for a family with children. Mine thoroughly enjoyed the jigsaws and the cars/trucks. The DVDs were just want young kids would want. Highly recommended.

Outstanding property and location. 4 large bedrooms. Parking for 1 car at rear of property but parents took small car as well, that we were able to park on the yard. Our little Yorkie really enjoyed his stay too.

The house was beautiful....very spacious and very well equipped! Our party consisted of 4 adults and 4 children ranging from 8 years of age up to 16. There was plenty of space for us all to do our own thing. Having two shower/bathroom areas was a huge help when we all wanted to get ready on a morning! There was space at the back of the property for one car and parking at the front. The owner came round to visit us and was very helpful and welcoming. The only issue we seemed to have initially was the wi-fi kept going off randomly but one of the kids switched it off and back on and hey presto! No more issues!! Not that wi-fi should be the be all and end all of a holiday but we needed to check places out and the weather etc! The only thing we did not rate ( and this is nothing to do with the house!) was Hest Bank Inn. We went and felt basically ignored by the bar person serving us so we did not venture back for a meal as we had planned. In the property there was a voucher to use which would give us a free drink there and we never used it.....that says it all really. So all in all the house is fabulous. There were games for little children but we have left a small bingo game that the whoe family can play (it was raining one day and so we bought some things to play with!). Very happy with the house indeed.

What a wonderful home to stay in! Helen was a perfect host, making sure that all our specific needs were met. The house was spotless, and very well equipped. The views from the bedrooms are wonderful and the house is spacious and charming at the same time. The proximity to the Lancaster canal and the wonderful Hest Bank Inn is another bonus. We will definitely look to stay again on our next visit to Lancaster.

Had a lovely time in a home that suited our needs. We were 4 seniors on a golfing break and only used the house for sleeping in and having breakfast each morning. On the negative side, there were some noisy dogs during some late evenings and duringo the night.

Coastal View is an interesting house with good space. The heating was good which was important as the weather wasn't great during our stay. However it did have an air of being 'unloved' and was rather grubby in places. eg The carpets downstairs hadn't been cleaned for a long time. There was a good selection of toys for younger children but the lounge was a bit hazardous for the young baby we had with us. The corners of the marble fireplace were a bit tricky and the nest of tables tipped over easily. The kitchen was spacious and we used this for all meals. Good supply of crockery and cutlery but utensils were a bit old and inadequate. There was no welcome pack which is unusual. Never stayed anywhere before that didn't have this. There was no radio in the kitchen which was a shame. We did attempt to contact the keyholder with regard to 2 maintenance issues but without success. The front door lock was problematic - possible affected by the damp weather. There also seemed to be a drainage problem in the bath - water very slow to run away when using the shower.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We were shocked and saddened to receive this review. The first one ever. We take our guests constructive comments very seriously so we can endeavour to improve their holiday experience. We feel we must comment on some of the issues raised. We close the house every January to decorate and clean carpets and update throughout the year when required. We have never received any comments about child safety issues. We are happy for our own very young grandchildren to stay there each year. All small children, not correctly supervised, will find some hazard in the safest of environments. Having consulted our caretaker who has worked for us diligently for more than 6 years she informs me she has no record of the guests leaving messages regarding maintenance issues. She was naturally very upset about the cleaning comment when the Reevoo Rating is 9.2 out of 10. The small maintenance issues have now been addressed and we apologise for any incovenience.
