Set over three storeys, this contemporary cottage is situated just off Whitby’s famous Church Street. A perfect location with the beach, abbey, church of St Mary and many pubs, cafés and bars right on your doorstep, yet peacefully set back from the busy cobbles and quirky shops. Whitby is popular year round due to its many festivals and events, whether it’s the organised events such as the world famous bi-annual Goth weekender, steampunk weekends, music and folk festivals or just the wonderful atmosphere in the quaint fishing town, there is always something going on. Take an open top bus ride around the town to see what’s on offer, or take a boat trip in search of dolphins, seals and whales. Alongside this, Whitby attracts visitors from all over who love to sample the many bars, restaurants, cafés and tea rooms, as well as museums and galleries.
This is also the perfect place to make as your base for exploring the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Heritage Coast. Travel by steam train into the midst of ’Heartbeat’ country, or take a walk along part of the Cleveland Way as it snakes along the coast - a must for those who enjoy the great outdoors. The Cinder Track is another great walk in the area which leads you along a disused track through Hawsker to the beautiful Robin Hood’s Bay. Other wonderful coves and bays along the Yorkshire Heritage Coast include Staithes, with its links to Captain Cook, and Runswick Bay. For adrenaline junkies, you’ll find surfing, mountain biking, and quad bike and jeep safaris among the many activities around the area. Take a drive into the North York Moors and see some of the most amazing countryside in the country. The traditional seaside town of Scarborough is just a short drive away with its Sealife Centre, waterpark attraction and leisure village, or venture a little further and visit the walled city of York with its minster and National Railway Museum. Beach 300 yards. Shops ½ mile, pub 20 yards, restaurant 40 yards.
