This place is just amazing! Beautiful conversion into a comfortable, clean and well equipped home from home! Excellent location to explore the lakes and surrounding area. Pool and pub less than 2 minutes away! So good we have booked it again for next year!

What a fantastic place to stay with 3 generations of one family. We stayed during the heat wave and the house was very hot indeed…the glass roof made the upstairs into a sauna and therefore we didn’t sleep for the first few nights. This is not a reflection on the owners or the house and I would imagine in cooler weather it would be lovely. A few little niggles - like not having oven gloves or tongs in the kitchen, and maybe a shelf in the shower/bathroom to hold toiletries - didn’t detract from our wonderful stay and because of the weather highlighted the need possibly for blinds on the kitchen door/window and a way of somehow being able to cool the upstairs down or blinds on the ceiling windows. That would take away from the beautiful woodwork and light … it was just unfortunate that we stayed during some intense heat which made the upstairs of the house unbearable. Nothing we could do and I imagine everywhere was suffering during those few days! Perfectly situated to explore the lakes, dales and the Scottish Borders. The stairs were amazing and not a problem for younger children. Plenty of space for us all to spread out. The village is beautiful with the food in the pub amazing. Children enjoyed the Lido and it was a gem of a find. All in all we would definitely come back as it was clean, tidy, well laid out, perfect location and beautiful. The woodwork and stone is natural and blends beautiful into the landscape. Thank you so much for a fab stay.
