The cottage itself is absolutely lovely. It has been lovingly built by the owners and is very comfortavle with plenty of seating and lots of bedding etc. The master bed was a little soft for us and the bath a little on the small side but otherwise all was grand. The kitchen was well appointed, lots of.crockery and cutlery and cooking utensils, the only thing missing for me was serving utensils. Pat & Dave gave a very warm welcome to us and helped us out with a couple of eggs when we had forgotten to buy some. The swimming pool was glorious, pool towels were provided which was a bonus and the barbeque provisions were great with half a bag of charcoal provided. All in all we spent a very pleasant week here. Some negatives to be aware of: The wifi - though it exists - is utterly useless, we only managed to connect twice and the connection dropped within 5 minutes, thereafter we were unable to get connected. This resulted in us using all our data from our phones during our week there unfortunately. The TV - the cable for the TV was loose at the wall and needed wiggling on quite a few occasions to get signal, on one occasion no matter of wiggling would bring the signal back. The CD player skipped so we were unable to use that although I believe Pat will now address that having told her about it. There are a lot of flies as it is next door to a farm. The hot water failed twice during our stay, after one occasion it was back on quite quickly but the second occasion saw us having cold showers that evening. While there waaas some sympathy for this from Pat & Dave there was no real apology or recompense for this and we felt a bit let down by this especially given how friendly they had been generally. There were also 2 powercuts during our time there there. One was due to a storm but the other was due to work being done for Pat & Dave's meter and we received no prior warning of this. Luckily it only lasted an hour but it would have been good to have advance warning. All in all it was a pleasant holiday spoiled by a few things which we felt could have been handled better.
