This property is part of our Welcome Cottages collection

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

This delightful cottage is located on the Cotswold Water Park, and makes a lovely retreat for nature lovers, and an ideal touring base.

This attractive cottage is set on the quieter side of the award-winning Lower Mill Estate, a 450-acre nature reserve boasting a large variety of wildlife and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Built in Cotswold style, the cottage has a southerly aspect with uninterrupted views across Somerford Lagoon, the largest lake on the estate. The decking provides a wonderful location for al fresco meals from breakfast to dinner. Steps lead down from the gated decking area to a pontoon onto the lake. The River Thames flows 20 yards from the front door and the Thames Path leads to the source of the Thames near the village of Kemble. The village of Somerford Keynes is a short walk away where the local pub offers freshly prepared home cooked food and local cask ales. The surrounding area offers a network of lakeside paths and bridleways to explore hidden countryside on foot or by bike. Many fine traditional pubs, cafés and hotels are found in local Cotswold villages offering delicious homemade food and speciality beverages. The historic town of Cirencester is a short drive away and beautiful towns and villages such as Bath, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway and Cheltenham are all within easy access. The Cotswold Water Park offers a host of activities including water skiing, cable skiing, archery, shooting, paintballing, golf, aerial adventure, angling, horse riding, sailing, canoeing and rally driving. Cycle tracks, nature trails and fishing are all available locally. Shop and restaurant on-site (seasonal opening times). Pub serving food 1 mile.

Wonderful weekend break in a home from home cottage equipped with everything, and more, than you could want. Would highly recommend.

I am sure other visitors to the cottage will have praised the location and the amenities. This is an amazing place, but to me it is the little touches that mean so much. The condition of the cottage is excellent, and the cleanliness upon arrival was first-rate. This is a home that has been cared for, and is being shared with the clients. It had a very welcoming feel, and needless to say we had a wonderful time.

Clearwater Cottage is a very clean, cosy and comfortable property in a spectacular position right on the edge of the lake. All 3 generations of our family enjoyed it tremendously and although it was half term, the venue didn't feel particularly crowded and was very peaceful.

An absolutely stunning setting. Very comfortable cottage with everything you could need for a lovely stay. Throw in wall to wall sunshine and, like us, you'll have an amazing weekend. We couldnt keep our boys (8 and 5) out of the kayaks! Just lovely. It's a shame there is no access to the on site spa with this cottage but the outside pool was an added bonus. I can't fault this cottage as a base to explore the area.
