This was my second time staying at Clachan Cottage and it didn't disappoint. The cottage is the best-equipped that I have stayed in and I try to take cottage holidays two or three times every year. The views are spectacular and the photographs do not do them justice (which is hard to believe). The owners are extremely hospitable without being intrusive and I felt very well looked after. The weather during my visit was sometimes overcast or raining but that didn't put me off and I was happy to sit in the warmth of the conservatory watching the constantly changing views of the loch and mountains. I was visited by the pine marten every night and he enjoyed his peanut butter sandwiches. Deer visited the area outside of the cottage too which was lovely. The road to Torridon must have some of the best views in Scotland and the road from Torridon onward to Kinlochewe is also spectacular. A visit to neighbouring Diabaig is another must-do journey. After three years of visiting this area, I still find it irresistible not to stop the car and take photographs at every turn. You will not be disappointed. There is a small shop and cafe in Torridon which reduces its opening hours in the winter-time but I noticed a new cafe at the Torridon Hall a little further up the road. The closest place for an evening meal or drink is the Torridon Hotel, which is lovely. Further along, you will come to Shieldaig which also has a bar and restaurant. This is not the place for fast food or convenience stores. Come prepared with your groceries and you will not want for anything. It was a wrench to leave Clachan Cottage but I will definitely return.

A cosy cottage in a stunning location. We didn't have the best weather but could sit in the conservatory and enjoy the scenery and wildlife in comfort. Extremely well equipped, we found all we needed and more!

A wonderful cottage with fantastic views and the owners had gone to a lot of trouble to make us comfortable. Lots of extras left for us and great toiletries. Also very nice owners. Enjoyed it very much.

A perfect scenic location and hosts. The house and garden were immaculate. The only problem we had was midgies (hard to avoid on the west coast!) combined with very hot weather so couldn't open the windows - this was discussed with the proprietors and they will look at resolving the issue so that windows can be open, particularly upstairs and conservatory. We would most definitely stay again.
