This property is part of our Welcome Cottages collection

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Enjoy a get-together at this spacious cottage, which lies close to a host of attractions for all ages, and just 4 miles to a beautiful beach.

Set in 6 acres of unspoilt Cornish countryside, this spacious, 4 bedroom holiday cottage, attached to the owner’s home, makes the perfect getaway for families or friends holidaying together. The stunning beach at Perranporth is just 4 miles away, and has a pub, local shops, surfing and the annual beachside music festival of ’Tunes in the Dunes’. Within easy reach of the A30, the property makes a perfect base from which to enjoy the north coast and all that Cornwall has to offer. There are plenty of other beaches dotted along the coastline from Porthtowan, St Agnes, Perranporth, Holywell Bay and Crantock, with its Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and tidal river perfect for watersports. Holywell Bay also has its own funpark with go-karting, small rides, crazy golf and an 18-hole golf course with its own bar and restaurant with stunning views. There are many tourist attractions for all members of the family from Crealy adventure park, Lappa Valley Steam Railway and Dairyland, to the more natural attractions such as stunning cliff walks along the South West Coastal Path, horse riding, kayaking and sea fishing, which are all available locally.

For an alternative view of Cornwall, visit the pretty but compact city of Truro, the capital of Cornwall. Cobbled streets, a theatre, cinema and plenty of restaurants, cafes and local shops along with an indoor market is a must. Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm is a popular tourist attraction and just minutes’ away. It hosts its own festival of cider and music amongst the orchards, a favourite with locals and visitors alike. There is an off-road quad bike centre close by which provides some high octane fun for all the family. If you prefer something a little quieter, there are bike trails and bike hire at Bissoe. The cross country trails are a great way to see Cornwall and sample some of its mining heritage, as the trails meander from the north coast to the south. Newquay, with its surf and beach culture, is close by and has many restaurants, shopping, a zoo, leisure centre’s, swimming and a working harbour where you can take to the sea on one of the many fishing boats and hopefully catch the evenings dinner. Watergate Bay, home to Jamie Oliver’s restaurant, Fifteen, is nearby, and Padstow also has many excellent eateries including Rick Stein’s restaurant. There’s an excellent fish and chip shop a short drive along one of the most beautiful coast roads in the country, and a must for all visitors. Padstow, St Ives, Fowey, Truro and Falmouth are all easily reached and are essential destinations to explore the wonderful and diverse county of Cornwall. Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Absolutely beautiful cottage, comfortable with everything you need. There is a huge field that the children loved running around playing with all the games located in the shed at the bottom next to the stream. Only downside is you need to drive to any amenities but we knew that when booking so didn't matter, however Healeys Cider farm is just down the road :)

We had an amazing holiday at chyventon , family of 8 spanning three generations. The cottage is really lovely and equipped with everything you need. the location is stunning with loads of land and a lovely summer house with seating and outdoor games for the children it also has facilities to make drinks in , there is a stream close by and the children loved it . The hosts Kevin and De are fantastic and went above and beyond to make our stay a truly wonderful time . We had home made cream scones waiting for us on arrival, the best I've ever tasted 😋 We went blackberry picking on the land with the children and made crumble with them . We all slept brilliant , it's so quiet and peaceful even the children slept in late 🙌 Perranporth beach isn't far away and it's a fab beach . We will definitely be coming back here .

Cottage was well placed for exploring both the North coast of Cornwall and Truro. Unexpected discovery of excellent Healy’s Cidery almost on doorstep which kept us well satisfied on a showery day. Cottage itself was clean, well equipped and presented and spacious. Single bedroom was a little cramped and the bed was more of a day bed but was comfortable enough.
