Description

This well-equipped lodge has a feature wood burner, and lies within easy reach of Pembroke with its castle.

The Lodge lies within the grounds of the owner’s smallholding at Church View Holiday Cottages along with four traditional Welsh stone barn conversions (which are set around a courtyard) and two beautiful shepherd’s huts. The Lodge is a unique wooden lodge, which is an ideal retreat for couples looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. This detached, single-storey lodge offers exposed timber beams and wooden floors, and has an airy, open plan kitchen, dining and living space. Within the living area is a feature wood burner, which is great for sitting in front of for a cosy night in, and the double bedroom offers en-suite shower facilities.
Within the grounds are also two shepherd’s huts, as well as a wooden lodge to choose from, and roaming nearby are geese, ducks and even alpacas. Church View Holiday Cottages lie deep within the rolling Pembrokeshire countryside, and are set within the quaint historic hamlet of Rosemarket. Here you can uncover the ancient church of St Ismaels, the Rosemarket Rings (which are a former Iron Age settlement) or sample some ales and local produce from the village pub, all of which are a stone’s throw away. Set between the two towns of Haverfordwest and the medieval town of Pembroke and close to Cleddau Estuary, this makes the ideal base from which to explore west Wales and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
10 minutes away is the harbour town of Milford Haven, ’one of the finest natural waterways’ in Lord Nelson’s words. Within the harbour you can enjoy one of the many coffee shops and wonderful craft shops, or venture into the town to the Torch Theatre and catch a live show or take in the cinema. Travelling west past the town of Milford Haven, you can discover the ‘picture postcard’ coves and cliffs of Sandy Haven, Dale and Marloes Sands, arriving at Martin’s Haven. Be sure to take a boat trip to Skomer Island to spot the abundance of seals, puffins and Manx shearwaters. Over 22,000 bird species can be found on Skomer Island.
For a family day out, visit Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo with lions, rhinos and giraffes. Adrenalin lovers can pay a visit to Oakwood Theme Park. On rainy days, take a trip to Bounce Below, a large indoor trampoline centre - perfect for all ages. Beach 7 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 50 yards.
The Lodge can be booked together with Primrose (ref UK10376), Bluebell (ref UK10371), Cowslip (ref UK10372), Heather (ref UK10373), The Crook (ref UK10374) and The Hurdle (ref UK10375) to accommodate up to 27 guests.
