What a charming and special place this is and unbelievably good value for money. The cottage is big and comfortable and when you open the front door in the mornings you see chickens and ducks pottering about happily. This is particularly good for young children and a very safe location as the front door is set in a field with a track leading up to it and a gravel drive. Next door is an Art studio which runs weekly classes and my friend tried her hand at a life drawing class. The hosts are very helpful and friendly and if you need anything happy to oblige.

It depends on what you mean by 'local'. There are no amenities immediately to hand but there are small shops, garages and pubs within a 5 to 10 minute drive. We ate at 'The Bell at Brisley' which was excellent. We were attending a birthday party at the 'Dabbling Duck' in Great Massingham where we have attended previous family events and which is also very good. There is a large Waitrose store in Swaffham and a large Tescos and weekday market in Fakenham.

Lovely cottage which is very cosy! It's part of the larger house and the grounds are really lovely. Very well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Nicola was warm, welcoming and friendly but we didn't need to bother her for anything but I'm sure nothing would have been too much trouble for her! The chickens were great but Desmond the very friendly cat was the icing on the cake! He stayed with us for some of our stay and sorry Nicola we did feed him ! Highly recommend

We had a very good week at the cottage which was clean enough and fairly comfortable. The plumbing was disappointing as shower had poor drainage (reported and hopefully fixed soon for next occupancy). We also took our dog and she was welcomed however the secure garden was full of chicks to chase. We managed with lead walking in the front field avoiding chickens geese and cats. Overall it was a lovely week and the roaming animals although chasable made it very special especially waking up to the cockerel. I would definitely recommend it.

Church Farm Dairy is an exceptional holiday rental. A lovely conversion, retaining a lot of original features. Incredibly spacious, the photographs on the website do not do it justice. There's everything you could need in this tranquil location and the owners free range chickens provide a delightful morning greeting. We couldn't fault it and would be only too happy to visit again.

Full of cobwebs under kitchen cupboards behind the bed etc Sticky sweets under the sofa cushion muck and dust under the sofas the toilet upstairs stunk the outdoor space was unusable without a serious wash and had their chickens running around our private garden area. It was supposed to be dog friendly luckily we didn’t take him, as he would have chased the chicks and could easily have got out of the supposed enclosed garden. The fridge was so frosted that it froze our picnic items the cooker took an age to cook.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for taking the time to review Church Farm Dairy Holiday Cottage. I am sorry to hear that there were parts of the holiday cottage that you were not pleased with. In regards to cleanliness, the floors are hoovered and mopped once a week and a deep clean is done once a month. Both ourselves and our own cleaner do the changeover in the holiday cottage and we will ensure that the areas you felt were unclean are addressed. In regards to the outside area, we supply a large outside table and chairs, along with a barbecue, due to it being outside we cannot guarantee it being as clean as indoor areas. There is a gate either side of the holiday cottages enclosed garden and we apologise for the chicks coming into your garden, this could possibly be because the guests before you had children who fed the chicks breadcrumbs. In regards to dogs, the policy is that dogs are to be kept on a lead at all times and 70% of our guests bring dogs and we have never found our chickens to be a problem as long as dogs are supervised. The fridge is cleaned thoroughly before every new guest arrives due to guests leaving food etc., we apologise that it froze over. Sorry to hear that you felt the cooker took too long to heat up, but we have never had a complaint about it before and we will investigate and rectify this issue. We pride ourselves on good reviews, we apologise that you feel this way, had these issues been brought to our attention we could have resolved them straightway and ensured you had had a pleasant stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Church farm Dairy, it was quaint, cosy and very comfortable. The location was idyllic but you did need a car to get to local amenities. The owners very lovely and did everything to make your stay a memorable one. We will definitely be returning.

We really enjoyed our stay at Church Farm Dairy. We were made to feel very welcome, Maddy and Tristan were friendly, obliging and accommodating. The cottage was much larger than we anticipated, with a comfortable lounge and two spacious double bedrooms and a smaller twin yet big enough for our needs. The cottage is very well equipped, the kitchen in particular, the bedrooms have more than enough drawer and wardrobe space and there were lots of books and games in the lounge. We appreciated the large shower room on the ground floor and along with the bathroom and ensuite we never had to wait to use the facilities. The large outdoor area was fantastic for our grandson to explore and let off steam. It was lovely to eat outside at the large table by the front garden. Whissonset is a quiet, peaceful village with very little night time noise. It is in a good location for exploring Norfolk. Church Farm Dairy provided us with perfect holiday accommodation.

They were able to accommodate us at very short notice when our original booking was cancelled. The gardens are wonderful and the location ended up being better located for us.
