Set in a wonderful, sought after location in the small village of Pitminster, nestling beneath the Blackdown Hills and Taunton, this delightful 300 year old barn conversion has been tastefully restored to offer an exceptionally lovely holiday home. Chilcott’s Barn is on a working sheep and cattle farm, and has superb country views, which can be enjoyed from inside as well as from the hot tub on the terrace. Developed to a high standard of luxury, there is an open plan living/dining/kitchen area with air sourced underfloor heating and flagstone floor. Upstairs there are three beautifully decorated bedrooms with Smart TVs (including Sky TV). The owners also provide a substantial welcome pack consisting of a bottle of quality wine, homemade cake, fresh bread, butter, milk, sugar, salt and pepper, homemade jam, free-range eggs, chocolates, hot chocolate, tea, coffee (both instant and fresh) and homemade cordial. To add to the luxury, white fluffy bath robes, and bath and hand towels are also provided, as well as hairdryers in all the bedrooms. This is a great accommodation to get away from it all, but with plenty to enjoy nearby. For those who love walking, the Blackdown Hills and the Quantock Hills are located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where you will find many footpaths to explore. Exmoor National Park is also well worth a visit. In the county town of Taunton, you will find a castle and a museum, along with shops and a selection of restaurants. The West Somerset Steam Railway from Bishop’s Lydeard to Minehead, travels through beautiful countryside with views of the Quantock Hills and along the Exmoor coast. You can also enjoy family days out at the Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, Diggerland in Cullompton, the multi award winning Haynes International Motor Museum, Glastonbury Tor and Abbey, and Clarks Factory Village. Wookey Hole Caves and Cheddar Gorge are approximately one hour’s drive away and are worth a visit. You may also wish to visit Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, which is a World Heritage Site. On your return, you can relax in the hot tub and enjoy a barbecue. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

The Barn was absolutely stunning. Was stocked to the max with everything you could need, exceptionally well equipped, spotless and stunning. Anna was fabulous and made us some amazing cakes on arrival. Didn’t want to leave. Would recommend 100% and will be returning as soon as possible. The local pub the Queens arms also had beautiful food and was just a stones throw from the Barn.

This was by far the nicest accommodation that both myself and my partner have ever stayed in. Stunning Barn, spotlessly clean, amazing host Anna, and fab hot tub. We were genuinely so disappointed to have to leave and will definitely be visiting again!!! My word does Anna know who to provide luxury to her guests!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful holiday home, the owners have thought of everything we could possibly need and much more. The decor and quality of the furnishings is first class and spotlessly clean, as was the hot tub. The location is very quiet and picturesque and within walking distance of the local pub, there are restaurants too but the well equipped kitchen means you have the choice to cook your own meals with locally sourced ingredients. Chillcotts Barn exceeded all our expectations and we hope to return again soon as we have never stayed in such a well cared for and welcoming holiday home!

What an absolutely amazing place...would recommend to anybody looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway. The owner, Anna, has thought of practically everything when stocking the cupboards and is a lovely, friendly host who couldn’t do anymore for you. Quiet location...local pub within walking distance but shops a little further a field. Will definitely be returning!

Had a fabulous time at Chilcotts Barn at the end of May. No expense was spared in equipping the accommodation and our host, Anna, was wonderfully attentive to our every need. Recommend the local pub - The Queen's Arms - for food, drink and a great welcome. Star spotting in the hot tub, G&T in hand was a nice way to relax and unwind. Will be back!
