Location: 2km from Cressé (shops), 10km from Matha (shops and restaurant), 40km from Cognac (golf, all facilities), 50km from Saintes (boutiques, Roman arena and boat trips on the Charente), 100km from beaches.
A delightful, spacious property, beautifully renovated to provide comfortable and stylish holiday accommodation. In a tranquil setting on the outskirts of the village, with views over the fields beyond, this lovely old mill house with small river running beneath and separate cottage are set beside a stream with a central courtyard separating the two properties. (Although the stream may dry up in Summer, careful supervision of young children is recommended). It has a good-sized garden with a large patio, flower beds and lawns, and a large shady area with trees. Helpful owners occupy the right wing of the main house but have separate access. The Roman town of Saint-Jean-d’Angély is a 30 minute drive with boating lake, cobbled streets and excellent twice-weekly market for fresh local produce, and the historical town of Angoulême is 1 hours’ drive. An ideal situation for cycling and walking in the gentle countryside all around.
