We stayed in Chestnut Cottage during the week of record breaking temperatures and were supplied with fans which ensured the bedrooms were comfortable. We were able to find shady places outside and Stuart’s two fishing lakes were within easy reach though we were there for the peace not the fishing which was affected by heat and lack of rain. We enjoyed walks where we saw many wild flowers new to us. The cottage is well equipped in the kitchen and the armchairs and beds are comfortable though the duvets were too warm. The family is welcoming and helpful and we enjoyed a restful tranquil week, fond memories.

Ideal location for us and nice and quiet. We felt that a little more attention could be given to the cleaning ie the cooker and kitchen equipment and also general household dusting. We would suggest that they have some sort of report form for minor maintenance issues ie the hall coat hook, bathroom extractor fan not working and only one of the gang light switches near the front door was funtional. However in stating this it did not impact on the overall enjoyment of our stay and we would be happy to recommend it.
