Initial impression on approaching the property is not good – but don't be disillusioned. On entering the property there is an old car under a tarp, with a very old tractor behind it, and "stuff" laying around, and somewhat unkempt . . . but go inside ! You are greeted by a beautiful oak front door, inside is a sensible notice board with contact details of any health professional you may need, and through into the kitchen where a 1 inch OS map of the area is framed on the well. The kitchen is modern, well planned and particularly well equipped. The lounge is a little on the smallish side but adequate and comfortable, and leads to a patio with table and chairs. The bedroooms, cupboard/drawer space and shower/bathrooms are among the most generous we have found anywhere. The whole cottage is immaculate and add to all this the warm welcome from Rachel and that delicious lemon cake, it all more than makes good on the first glimpse.

3piece suite very uncomfortable. Owners automatic outside lights disturbed sleep. They did switch off one at our request but that didn't totally solve the problem. Couldn't find any oven gloves or colendar .

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner:- Regarding the 3 piece suite, we have never had anyone comment, apart from it being comfortable!but I guess it is a personal thing! We turned off the outside sensor light immediately when we were asked (after the first night). We live in a very rural area with no light pollution, but may be the moon was bright! There are modern silicone pan holders, but pehraps they were unaware of what they were.I will purchase some traditional oven gloves. There has always been a colander and a sieve in the kitchen. There are 2 saucepans, one double steamer, 3 frying pans and a lidded roasting tin. I will add another saucepan, although previous comments in our visitors book state how well equipped the accommodation is.

Lovely quiet place to stay. Cake on arrival very nice. Only constructive feedback would be to have a few more saucepans and some oven gloves. I'm sure if we'd asked the owner she would have supplied us with them.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. It was very easy to get to both the north and south coasts of Cornwall. My wife and sister-in-law enjoyed our holiday very much despite the rain!

Wonderful quite place - right on the doorstep of Cornwall - close to town and great shops, but far enough ways from the busy town to feel rural and countrysideish - we loved it...
