Situated down a quiet lane along a popular cycle route and just 11/2 miles from the pretty Cheshire village of Audlem, Cherry Tree Barn is ideally placed for exploring all that Cheshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire have to offer. This detached, former barn, which is situated in the grounds of the owner’s farmhouse, has been transformed into a stylish and contemporary holiday home. Its rural location offers unspoilt views of the surrounding countryside, which can be enjoyed from its private garden, and there is access to lots of country walks and public footpaths. The area is also popular with cyclists, and there is a good cycle shop in the lively village of Audlem, which also has a deli, wine shop, butchers, post office and a good selection of pubs and takeaways. The Shropshire Union Canal runs through the village, and its towpaths provide pleasant walks, whilst its church is one of the oldest in Cheshire. The village hosts various events throughout the year. A wider selection of amenities can be found in the historic market town of Nantwich, 6 miles, or Crewe, 12 miles, which as a major interchange, offers good rail links to most of the country, including Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent, Wales, London and Glasgow. Liverpool and Manchester are both less than an hour by train, or you can drive there in around 80 minutes. The historic city of Chester, with attractions including the races, river cruises and museum, is a 45-minute drive, as is Chester Zoo and Shrewsbury. Other places of interest within easy driving distance include Whitchurch and Market Drayton, both 9 miles, Beeston Castle and Cholmondeley Castle and Gardens, both 16 miles, and Stoke-on-Trent’s potteries, 20 miles. National Trust properties within easy reach are Little Moreton Hall, 15 miles, Biddulph Grange, 19 miles, Erdigg, 20 miles, and Chirk Castle, 24 miles. North Wales is also very accessible from here. Closer to the property is the OverWater marina, which has a café and operates boat trips to Audlem during the summer, is just half a mile away, or why not visit the Hack Green Secret Bunker, 31/2 miles. Activities available locally, apart from walking and cycling, include golf, fishing, horse riding and sailing. With so much to see and do right on the doorstep, Cherry Tree Barn provides the perfect getaway for families or couples looking to explore this wonderful region. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
