Wheal Coates is a pet friendly barn conversion finished to four star standard with easy access to the Cornish coastline.

These holiday homes, converted from stables, are set within mature gardens and grounds and are finished to a very good standard. A perfect location to explore Cornwall and a short walk away from the coastal path. Set in shared grounds but with their own terraces, these properties have views across open countryside. St Agnes is a quaint coastal village with shops, sandy coves and beaches, stunning walks, beachside pubs serving home cooked food and locally brewed ales. The North Cornwall Coast is minutes away and Porthtowan with its sandy beach is close by, as is Perranporth, a traditional family resort with rock pools, sand dunes, beach bar, surf hire and golf. Newquay is a short drive and has a sea life centre, zoo and family attractions including Creally Adventure Park and Dairyland. Truro, Padstow, St Ives, Fowey, the Roseland Peninsula and Land’s End are all easily reached. Horse riding, cycling, sea fishing, boat trips and kayaking locally. Shop 21/2 miles, pub and restaurant 1/4 mile.

Both properties: Oil central heating £20 per week. Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair. Welcome pack. Terrace with garden furniture and barbecue. 2½-acre grounds with lawned area, orchard and badminton area (shared with other properties on-site). Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. Wheelchair access. No smoking. Please note: There is a pond in the grounds, 20 yards.

    This was the fourth year we have spent our 2 week vacation at this property. There were six of us in our party and all are agreed, in one word Excellent. The owners, Marlene and Owen are excellent host's. We had several problems, due to our age, and these were sorted out quickly see efficiently. Needless to say we have booked the property for 2019.

    Thoroughly enjoyed our stay so much we have booked to go again next year + the property next door for my nephew and his family. Owners very friendly. They welcomed us with lovely cream tea items. Everything we needed was there and good location for getting out and about. Lovely and quiet to really relax in great surroundings. I would definitely recommend this property. Sorry do not have a photo to share only of the cottage.

    Very happy with cottage. But we would of liked more towels as there were 7 of us and we only had 6 towels. For a week. There was no tumble dryer to wash and dty them in our British rainy climate. We were expected to dry them on the radiators. But the heating was not on in the daytime. Hence difficult to dry. If u have a hybrid car then they require extra money......

    Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for taking the time to provide valuable feedback which we very much welcome. I am sorry that we have not been able to meet your full expectations on this occasion. We provide 9 towels on arrival, to allow for our maximum listed capacity of 6 people. As you mention,a seventh guest stayed and if requested we would have happily provided additional towels and are always available for our guests as we also live on site. As part of our standard package we provide heating in the mornings and evenings and often find our guests use this time to dry any laundry they may have done in the washing machine provided. We also offer all day heating but ask for an additional contribution towards the cost. This would also apply to any requests to use electricity over and above reasonable expectation such as in your case where you wished to charge your electric vehicle on our electricity supply. We pride ourselves in providing a very high end 4 star accommodation at a reasonable rate and hope our guests understand where we ask for contributions to cover any additional usage, over and above a reasonable level.

    We had another great stay at Wheal Coates. The accommodation was spotless and cream tea on arrival most welcoming. It is so nice to be able to bring our dog as well to such a luxury home from home. Everything you need is here. Location wise it is a 5minute drive to the beach, 15 minutes to Truro or 2 minutes to local village. Honestly, is a treat to stay here only downside is we don't have enough holiday from work to stay longer!

    Great Holiday Cottage. Owner excellent and very very friendly. Cottage caters for wheelchair users and loads of space if all berths used. If I wanted to be really picky I would ask that the owners look at getting the freezer inside the holiday let but other than that it was excellent.
