Set within the most peaceful and well tended grounds of Caer Beris Holiday Park, close to the bank of the River Ithon, you will find ’Chalet 51’. This spacious timber lodge offers well equipped and comfortable accommodation for four people. The setting is beautifully rural yet very close to the town as Builth Wells is only a mile away - a few minutes in the car, or a pleasant 20 minute walk when the weather obliges. The lounge offers a large and comfortable sofa and armchair and there’s a flatscreen TV with satellite Freeview, along with a cosy flame effect fire for the chillier nights. Large picture windows which adorn its well designed living area, not only flood the space with light but invite effortless appreciation of the beauty of the natural surroundings. The French doors open onto a large veranda across the front of the property providing an ideal spot for dining in the sunshine. The dining area has circular table and four chairs, and next to this is the kitchen, which has full size fridge and gas cooker, and a full complement of what you would expect in a kitchen. There’s a double bedroom and a twin, a bathroom with full size bath and separate WC. Outside the lodge has its own private parking space and room for a further vehicle. Pets are welcome at the site- there’s a large riverside area for dog walking and miles of footpaths nearby. There’s one ’rod’ on the river included with the rental in the fishing season. (A rod license would be required). This lodge offers a holiday with peace and relaxation - you’d be forgiven for never wanting to leave such tranquility behind.

Nice setting, however the chalet itself was run down and dirty. Animal hair and greasy sweat stains on sofa. Mould in bathroom and bedroom. Bath mat covered in hair. No hot water for bath.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We were extremely upset to hear that you did not enjoy your stay. If you had only contacted us on your arrival with any of your issues we would have been more than happy to attend at that time, our number was supplied with your information and we are always on hand for any emergencies. I clean the property myself and take great care to leave it in a pristine state, and was mortified to think you found it to be run down & dirty. We do accept pets, however we take great care to make sure all evidence of their visit is removed before our next guest’ stay. The sofa has, since your stay, been recovered, however this was due to its age and not any visible stains. The bedroom was repainted not long before your arrival, and showed no signs of mould. It does state in our description that the bath is not in use, it is a shower over the bath. We are extremely saddened that in 6 years running this property we have never had a review like this.
