Description

Located within a woodland garden, this detached property is secluded with amenities closeby.

Commanding spectacular views over Cardigan Bay, these four holiday properties enjoy an elevated position nestled beside a mountain stream, accessed by a steep shared drive. Woodland Roost (ref WN72) is a detached hideaway located within a woodland garden and Cedar Rest (ref WN82) and Coastal Retreat (ref 28519) are delightful wings of the owners’ 16th-century hillside farmhouse. Ceilwart Cottage (ref WN73) is situated in a beautiful, terraced garden with patio, BBQ and patio furniture, and has strong green credentials with its solar panels for hot water, a ground source heat pump for the comfortable central heating and cosy sheep’s’ wool insulation, not forgetting the triple glazed windows and the UV filtered natural spring water. They all overlook the owners’ field, and are only a mile away from the town of Barmouth, with its choice of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. A steep walk across the road takes you to the promenade and a beautiful sandy beach. Close by are all the amenities of the Snowdonia National Park, Harlech with its castle and golf course, Portmeirion, and steam trains run from Porthmadog. They are secluded but not isolated, with horse riding, fishing and mountain bike centres within an easy drive. Beach 1¼ miles. Shops, pubs and restaurants 1 mile.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 14 guests.

An excellent cottage in a wonderful location, secluded and quiet but within a 5 minute drive of the town of Barmouth. The owner lives on site and is very welcoming , friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The views from the two terraces available are spectacular, especially the sunsets. A great centrally located base on Cardigan Bay for visits south toward Aberystwyth and north through Harlech and Porthmadog to Angelsey, Snowdonia and the North Wales coast resorts of Llandudno, Rhyl and Colwyn bay.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. It has recently been unseasonably cold, however as these guests didn't contact us for extra heating which could have been rectified. We apologise at our cleanliness levels we not upto our usual high standards this must have been an oversight, we will make sure this is rectified for future bookings.

Beautiful setting with fantastic scenery . But the cottage was damp, very cold with inadequate heating.ie small fire with infra red pictures on wall. We could not use the dishwasher because of the smell, the washing machine was broken and the general utensils were unclean and dusty. The cottage was dusty with cobwebs everywhere, including behind the infra red wall heaters Pity because the setting was beautiful and the owners were very friendly.

Was in a Beautiful setting however was very cold had no heating except a small fire and lnfa red pictures . It was very damp also with dehumidifiers. The washing machine was broken . It was quite dirty pots were unclean it was dusty and the clean towels had blood on. It was a late booking though so maybe it hadn't been turned over as it would be in peak season. Maybe a summer stay would have been a completely different experience as the heating was insufficient.
