My husband and I had great holiday and we loved the cottage. Plenty of space, lovely view, comfortable, nice and quiet. The heating was on and it was cozy and warm every time we got back. That was our first time visiting Wales and Snowdonia and we hope to visit again maybe next time during the summer and it would be great to stay in Cedar Rest again. We definitely recommend the place as amazing value for the price. Thank you :)

The position of the cottage was great but the main thing that let it down was the lounge furniture. It was old and very uncomfortable and after a days walking you really don't want to come home to discomfort. Also, although the kitchen was adequate, the oven was not very clean and the equipment very sparse, all such a shame when the position and views from the patio were so fantastic. We would rather pay a bit more and have more comfort.

Friendly welcome from the owner. Nice cottage with amazing views from the gardens and the conservatory, with good seating in both. Comfortable bedroom and lounge. Only quibble would be that the kitchen has only absolute minimal equipment, and at most rental properties now you find a pint of milk and some tea/coffee/sugar, a small thing but nice after a long journey.

Nice little cottage, spectacular views. Good value for money. You can have a caravan at this time of year and pay more than we paid for this cottage and you would be bothered by people's kids and noise. This cottage is very private and peaceful and views second to none. Comfortable chairs, good tele and settee for evening, roomy bedroom and en suite. Kitchen nice.. Better than mine at home. The owner Elaine cannot do enough for you, she told us the easier way to get down the hill for a walk and local eating places etc. Wifi not too good, but we needed a proper rest so didn't really miss it. To be fair Elaine is in process of fixing this issue. Other reviews I've read are very nit picky and unfair... As I said very good value for money especially compared to other accommodation at this time of year. Would definitely go again. Paul & Jane

Sorry, I was hoping to give a glowing review of this cottage but this is not the case. The cottage is dated and needs modernising, there were no microwave dishes, no baking trays for the oven, only two saucepans, one small and one very large. Every cottage we have been to, and we have visited many, there's always been a welcome pack but nothing, I know we shouldn't expect this but it's a nice gesture, towards the end of the holiday the property ran out of oil so we had no heating or hot water for two days, don't expect this when you pay good money for a weeks stay.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I’m sorry that you were disappointed. The accommodation is inspected and meets its grading. I am not a catered establishment and do not hold a food hygiene certificate, so therefore do not offer a welcome pack. On the Friday when I was advised about the hot water I went into the property and switched on the immersion heater and later asked if you required extra heating, which was declined. It was unfortunate that the oil delivery was late. We had drained the tank to replace parts and obviously had not been able to put sufficient in prior to the delivery. This is a one off incident as I have an oil monitor for deliveries.

The location is definitely the best thing about Cedar Rest, the views are fabulous and you can sit in the conservatory and just look out and enjoy. I can see that for some people the very steep approach driveway would be an issue, probably more on foot than in a vehicle, but each property does have it's own parking and the walk up can be taken slowly (take time to stop and look back at the views!). The heating wasn't working the days we stayed but the owner did provide us with a couple of portable heaters, one for downstairs and one for upstairs, so we were comfortable. There is plenty to do in the area and we were very lucky with the weather :-)
