Description

Located in a charming historic market town in the heart of Wiltshire, this lodge is the ideal base for exploring the beautiful area.

Bright, light and elegantly furnished – just three of the most apparent aspects that make this property a cut above the norm. Cedar Lodge is a contemporary single-storey house that lends itself to the adventurous type. With the gently undulating hills of the Cotswolds (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) to the north and Cranborne Chase’s lush greenery to the south, the countryside is as diverse as it is beautiful, which makes exploring Wiltshire an absolute delight.

If you’d rather stay a little closer to home, Devizes is reason enough to visit in itself. The bustling town owes its vibrant ambience in part to its various weekly markets; from collectors’ and farmers’ to its continental markets, the town is transformed into a feast for the eyes. The variety of things on offer is a mosaic of colour, selling everything from fine curio (ideal for souvenirs) to fresh local produce for fine dining back at the lodge. If you’d rather take a day off cooking, then there’s a great choice of independent cafes and restaurants to try. Head out along the Kennet and Avon Canal on foot or bike to find the canal museum, along with an engineering marvel; Caen Lochs (something of a stairway for canal boats!).

The hoard of the ‘Kings of Stonehenge’ in the Wiltshire museum is sure to pique the interest of history buffs, and if that isn’t enough, the ancient wonder, Stonehenge, is but a short drive away. There’s Wadworth Brewery for the drinks connoisseur and if sauntering through tranquil woodland is more your cup of tea, Drews Pond nature reserve should be top of the agenda.

However, there’s nothing like returning to your home-from-home after a busy day out and about; the interior is beautifully furnished with stylish décor throughout. Take a lazy day on the sofa with a Sunday paper or a good book, or try some fine al fresco dining in the moonlight. Sleeping up to 5 people, there’s something for everyone at family sized Cedar Lodge; ideal for family getaways, as well as for long postponed gatherings with old friends.

Living room with French doors and double sofa bed (alternative sleeping only). Dining room with Velux window. Galley-style kitchen with tiled floor. Double bedroom with 5ft bed. Twin bedroom. Single bedroom. Shower room with double cubicle and toilet. Separate toilet.

We had a really comfortable stay, and the house was equipped with everything we needed for a great long weekend with a group of friends. Walking into central Devizes was easy and a real pleasure along the canal side. Highly recommended!

A beautiful holiday home, spacious and comfortable, everything we could want and more. Lots of basics provided meaning no need to bring them such as salt and pepper, cooking oil, basic cleaning materials and lovely cosy towels. Really enjoyed our stay with two teenagers who appreciated the wifi! Would recommend this venue to families or groups for a short or longer break it was lovely.
