English Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

Perfectly placed for exploring beautiful countryside, beaches with iconic sculptures and the vibrant cities of Liverpool and Chester.

Once you step inside this beautiful detached cottage, the design and feel of the cottage will almost make you believe you have stepped into a Mediterranean villa. Beautifully finished throughout, with thought and consideration given to all aspects, the property is perfect for any occasion no matter what the weather. The double sided wood burner proves a wonderful feature in the chillier winter months, and for those warm summer days and evenings, the bi-folding doors open onto the terrace area complete with hot tub. A range of seating areas catch the sun well into the evening, and once indoors Smart TVs adorn all the bedrooms.
Surrounded by beautiful farmland, the location is semi-rural and peaceful, yet just 15 minutes away from the buzzing city of Liverpool with its docks, Beatles story and calendar full of festivals and events. For those who prefer the village life, a 12-minute walk from the property will take you directly into Cronton Village. The village is home to oak-beamed pubs, a prize-winning fish and chip shop and uniquely, one of just three sets of five-hole stocks in the country. Other attractions within easy reach include Knowsley Safari Park and Speke Hall (National Trust), 15 minutes away and both Aintree and Haydock Racecourses are just 25 minutes away. Around a half an hour drive will take you to miles of unspoilt coastline including Crosby Beach where you can see the famous Anthony Gormley sculptures and 45 minutes to the walled city of Chester. Beach 8 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

The outside area made this house special. We went on the Bank Holiday Weekend and the weather was fantastic. The hot tub, barbecue and comfortable outside seating area made our holiday. The downstairs is all open plan and it has plenty of Tv's and kitchen gadgets. The bedrooms were quite small but our only minor gripe would be that the bedrooms need some mirrors. Julie, the host was very friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate in returning.

The place was perfect for us and very comfortable. The only thing we thought was there were loads of tvs but not enough mirrors or bins. It was a lovely gesture leaving bread and milk and much appreciated. The hot tub was brilliant! Would definitely recommend, the only thing that let the location down was that they weren’t exactly nice views surrounding the property, it’s basically on a farm and was difficult for taxis to find.

We stayed here over the Christmas period in order to visit some relatives locally. The house accommodated our large group well as we could split the upstairs and downstairs due to the lounge area on the mezzanine level to give the youngsters their own space. However we did find that the storage provided for clothes was quite limited and there was a distinct lack of mirrors and bins in the bedrooms and bathrooms. The main bedroom upstairs could easily accommodate a dressing table/chest of drawers. Having said that on the plus side the luxury of having so many TV's available was extremely good. Unfortunately the weather was not ideal for us to try out the hot tub on this visit.
