A fantastic conversion set in Dudleston at the heart of North Shropshire.

These two semi-detached barn conversions (29363 and 29364), adjacent to the owners’ home, are set in a quiet and peaceful countryside location - an ideal holiday base for exploring Shropshire and the surrounding borderland counties of Cheshire and North Wales. Each property has its own hot tub and private designated patio areas.

Nearby tourist attractions include the picturesque Ellesmere Lakes, Old Hill Fort Oswestry, Park Hall working farm and Hawkstone Park. Go karting, paintballing and canoeing on the Shropshire canal, or visit historic Shrewsbury, with the River Severn flowing through. Across the border is North Wales, where guests will find Chirk Castle and Erddig (National Trust). The popular town of Llangollen is famous for its Eisteddfod, motor museum, horse drawn barges and canal boat rides, plus the steam railway and white water rafting. In Cheshire, visit Chester Zoo, Bangor-on-Dee and Chester race courses. Also Pistyll Rhaeadr, the highest waterfall in Wales is close to Oswestry, The Pontcysyllte Aquaduct and Lake Vyrnwy.

Although this is a rural location, it is close to civilisation with the nearest pub just 1½ miles away at St Martins and local well-stocked supermarket 2 miles away, also in St Martins with fuel station and electric car charging station too. Ellesmere also has a larger supermarket, and a variety of independently owned shops, pubs , two veterinary practices, takeaways, and a fuel station.

Lovely cottage. Very secure for dogs. Only issue is WiFi is poor to non existant but that is made known before you book. Good excuse to ignore social media.

Fantastic holiday accommodation and great owners. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need and is in a great location. A car is needed reach attractions but a lot in the local area. The wi-fi is a bit hit and miss but this is due its rural location and lack of fiber optic in the area (not the owners fault). The secure garden was perfect for the dogs and the hot tub was great to use after a long day of walking.

We had a lovely few days break with our baby at nuthatch. It is very rural but that’s not a problem with a car! The local amenities are great, especially ellesmere lake which is only 15/20 minutes away. There is a great local supermarket only 5 minutes away and some lovely take aways. The hot tub is brilliant, really good quality and well maintained, definitely the highlight of the cottage. The owner Helen is very helpful and friendly! The cottage is comfortable and pretty much has everything you need. The only thing I would have liked to have known before visiting is how slow the wifi speeds are. With a newborn we couldn’t go to the pub at night etc so we took a streaming usb stick with us, the wifi is no where near strong enough for this. We also struggled with the wifi speeds on our phones. We understand it’s no fault to the owners at all, it’s the very rural location however, we might have taken some dvds had we have known about the wifi speeds before arrival. Overall this is a nice place to stay!
