the cottage is down a windy country road, it really is a little gem for a location! you do have to travel for anything you wish to see or do, nothing is on the doorstep except for local shops being within 5 minute drive. The cottage itself is clean, and cozy! The shower upstairs could do with being more powerful, the downstairs one was a lot better! The amenities are basic but fine for cooking needs. Hot tub was fantastic as was the patio area, just what we needed for our little break. Overall we’d stay again! Thank you to the owners, although they keep themselves to themselves

Cottage was incredible, you literally get there and interact with nobody at all but the owners are there if needed but if not you are left alone which is perfect. Will definitely be returning here

We had a lovely couple of nights at Nuthatch Cottage. Clean and well equipped throughout. A very rural setting meant that it was blissfully quiet, with no interruptions, and only the occasional farm animal to be heard. The owners respected our privacy, and we didn't need to ask for anything extra as the cottage had all the essentials. Lovely to have a large, dog friendly play field across the driveway.

This is a lovely place to stay, and the cottages are so pretty and comfortable. There isn't really anything in the area, but it's not far into Chester city centre. If you're after a quiet break away then I would definitely recommend it.

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for staying with us for the weekend. We are pleased that you liked our cottage. We have a folder in the cottage with lots of places to visit and also a folder with lots of walks printed out for guests to enjoy. Close by we have the National Trust properties of Chirk Castle and Erddig Hall, there is the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct a world heritage site, walking over is not for the faint hearted. Nearby is the lovely Welsh riverside town of Llangollen , here you can ride on a steam train, or there are horse drawn canal boat rides. There are the lovely lakes around Ellesmere to explore. Whittington has a lovely Farm Park, ideal for children to visit. If feeling energetic there is the beautiful waterfall Pistyll Rhaeadr 40 mins away, walk up to the top, to see it in all it's splendour, and then have a treat at the tea shop at the bottom. The lovely Towns of Shrewsbury, Chester with its famous Zoo for a bit of retail therapy. Approx 40 mins away we have Cheshire Oaks, very large retail outlet, and also the Blue Planet Aquarium, you can even hire a canal boat for the day locally for some special family memories, something for everyone. Then there is always the hot tub to relax in after a busy day.
