A lovely 17th century cottage in a quiet location with secluded garden - rabbits and squirrels aplenty plus the occasional Red Kite. The owners are lovely and will make sure that you know how everything works and where everything can be found. A good roaring coal or wood fire soon warms the cottage up. We didn't feel the need to use the storage heaters (other than one we left on in the bathroom) even though it was a cold and wet week. Do bear in mind, though, that this cottage was built before double-glazing and cavity wall insulation (no cavity!) so pack a woolly or two if the weather's going to turn wintery. The kitchen is small, but we never felt at all cramped. Everything we needed was always to hand with a good selection of utensils. Despite the poor weather when we were there (seemed to be the Welsh monsoon week) it was sometimes nice to just laze about and enjoy the peace and quiet and watch the rabbits playing outside the window. There is some nice easy walking in the area around the cottage - more rolling hills than mighty mountains - and some peaceful river walks. There are shops in Llansainffraid a couple of miles to the north and loads of shops and supermarkets in Welshpool so you’re never too far from provisions. We would definitely stay here again, hopefully when the weather is a bit better.

Nothing no one in the family enjoyed the stay.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I am really sorry you didn’t enjoy your holiday. I know the weather was poor & whilst the cottage will accommodate six adults, it is not really suitable for three couples, as there are only two double & two single bedrooms. This is clearly stated in the property description.
