This cosy cottage is in a great location, with Bath, Bristol, Cotswolds villages and Stonehenge within easy reach.

This charming holiday cottage is the middle one of a small terrace of three, with fields to the rear and rolling countryside views to the front. It’s a peaceful, rural setting, yet less than 1 mile from the village and local amenities of Marshfield. The cottage has been sympathetically renovated to retain its character, and features the original bread oven, reclaimed slate floor, and shutters at the windows. The fully enclosed courtyard garden is a delightful spot from which to enjoy the uninterrupted and far reaching views, and is ideal for keen walkers and cyclists, with the Cotswold Way footpath nearby. The village of Marshfield lies on the southern edge of the Cotswolds and is just 6 miles from the Roman city of Bath. From its 12th-century church to its more recent 18th century High Street, the village proudly displays its architectural heritage based on the old wool and malting industries. Marshfield boasts two fine pubs, a tea shop, village store, butchers, newsagents and post office. Marshfield’s proximity to Bath, 15-minutes drive, and Bristol, 25 minutes, make it an ideal base for exploring both cities. Bath is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site and boasts Roman baths, a medieval abbey, a wealth of Georgian architecture, and wonderful shops, whilst the historic maritime port of Bristol offers many visitor attractions. The Severn Bridge is 20 minutes by car and gives access to south Wales. The beautiful villages of the Cotswolds are within easy reach, as are some famous Wiltshire sites, such as prehistoric Stonehenge and the magnificent Salisbury Cathedral. The area offers a wealth of National Trust and English Heritage properties, such as Bowood and Longleat. Nearer to home are the quintessentially English villages of Lacock and Castle Coombe, and the lovely Dyrham Park and Westonbirt Arboretum. Badminton is just a few miles away, home to the annual horse trials. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living room with slate floor. Dining room with slate floor/kitchen. Utility room. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft), 1 single. Shower room with toilet.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Freezer. One of the best,if not THE best cottages we have stayed in over the years. Everything you needed in the cottage, wonderful views from every window , very dog friendly garden and an owner that goes that extra mile. (Thank you for the wine and free range eggs). This cottage won an award for 2017, it fewer another one for this year.

What a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. The views are stunning and it is so tranquil, all we could hear was the birds and the sheep. The owners were also extremely accommodating and went out of their way to ensure we had all we needed. We most definitely plan to return.

A very comfortable cottage in a good location for visiting Bath, Bristol, the Wye Valley and the Cotswolds. Chris, the owner, was a very friendly and helpful host. We highly recommend this cottage, especially for dog owners.

Very pleased with this cottage. Nice welcome pack and the owners were there to meet us. The cottage is situated in a very quiet location but Marshfield is only about a 15 minute stroll away. The village has a general store for basic requirements and a very nice selection of the locally made ice cream. The 2 pubs both do good food and allow dogs. There are some pleasant local walks and it's ideally placed for other locations such as Biddestone, Laycock, Hinton to name but a few. We would definitely stay in this cottage again.
