Description

Enjoy al fresco dining in the enclosed garden after spending a day out visiting York, coastal towns and the Yorkshire Moors.

Quietly situated on the Florida Keys Park, this spacious lodge enjoys a partially enclosed lawned garden and a large decked area, ideal for al fresco dining. Carefully furnished, the lodge provides a relaxing base from which to explore the surrounding area. There are walking and cycling trails from the doorstep and scenic drives through the relatively undiscovered Yorkshire Wolds, which inspired the famous Hockney paintings. The Burnby Hall Gardens, Yorkshire Air Museum and the Museum of Farming are all close by, and during the summer months children will love the York Maze. Wilberfoss, 1½ miles, and Pocklington, 4 miles, offer an array of shops, pubs and restaurants. The Grimston Bar park and ride, 6 miles, provides hassle free access into the ancient city of York and its numerous attractions including the magnificent minster, castle, York Art Gallery, railway museums and the York Dungeon. Journey back in time at the Jorvik Centre and delve into the history of chocolate making at the Chocolate Story. An abundance of restaurants, bars and traditional pubs are hidden among the cobbled streets, along with a variety of independent shops. Out of town stores at Monks Cross and the designer outlet make York a shopper’s paradise. Enjoy a day out at Castle Howard and Beningbrough Hall. The North Yorkshire Moors are within easy reach, and the coastal resorts of Bridlington, Filey, Whitby and Scarborough are all within an hour’s drive. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Every comfort apart from a modern tin opener, wasn’t going to cut my hand open, that’s a tiny fault, we had mushrooms and fresh tomatoes instead of beans and tinned tomatoes with our breakfast. Other than that perfect

Lovely place to stay with my group of friends but it would also be great for families. Not too far from York but in a peaceful setting. Great restaurant on the doorstep. I will certainly look to visit again in the future.

Really lovely park home, decorated to a very high standard. Would benefit from a grill pan, as frying bacon sets off the rather effective smoke alarms despite the extractor being on! The owners are very lovely indeed, and the milk, tea, coffee etc provided were very much appreciated after a long journey! Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
