Just 20 minutes from Windermere, these holiday properties are set in lovely countryside and ten acres of landscaped grounds, facing south, with wonderful long distance views to the sea, and to the hills beyond. This large country house is set on a wooded knoll and has been skilfully converted into six spacious holiday houses, which are owned by the Caravan Club Ltd and situated on the edge of one of their immaculately kept small touring caravan parks. The house consists of a two storey cottage wing (W42981), a first floor apartment (W42982), a ground floor garden apartment (W42983), two ground floor apartments (W42984 and W42986) and a first floor balcony apartment (W42985).
There’s a lot to see and do in the immediate area. Close by is beautiful Cartmel Priory and the stately homes at Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall. 3 miles west along the coast is the refined small seaside town of Grange-over-Sands with lots of shops, golf and fishing. The properties make an excellent touring base for the whole of the southern Lake District. Shop 3 miles, pub with food 400 yards.

    The cottage, although furnished basically, is perfectly adequate and suited our needs well. Little touches like cushions and side lamps would really help comfort wise. Kitchen pots were good, knives too. More glasses, and cutlery is needed, however. Bedlinen was lovely, crisp and fresh and beds comfy. Curtains in twin room need repaired as hooks faulty, therefore did not close properly, letting in light. A bit more thought about decor would really raise the level of this cottage. Small garden is just grass, shrubs would help with privacy. Good and secure for our dog and grandchildren. A washing line or Whirly would be good! We did not find the chemical toilet station a problem although you are aware it is there. Good location- close enough to Kendal, Windermere, Lancaster, Ambleside etc. Lovely and quiet at night as caravan club campsite is well organised and peaceful. Small shop has milk etc, which is useful. Tumbledryer does not seem to work, but washing machine does. Overall reasonable value for money, and a good holiday was had.

    Cottage was absolutely fine. Clean and comfy and had its own garden which is nice. Only downfall is having constant campers emptying their chemical toilets and waste water just on the other side of the fence. Also when i booked it is very deceiving as you think you are getting a cottage but its not its just part of a cottage. Also i didn't realise it is actually on the caravan park. I thought going by maps it was further down a country lane. Information i had when booking wasn't very clear regarding that. Overall though once you get passed that realisation it was great. Nice caravan park very neat and tidy, and quiet which was great.
