This converted barn was really cosy, comfortable and well-equipped. It was clean with very tasteful and well-presented furnishings. I stayed here in December and found the electric convector wall heaters really efficient and only needed to use one heater for a short period to warm the whole cottage. In fact, I didn't use the heater in the bedroom at all. The garden was nice and quiet for taking my cat out on her lead and there was garden furniture available for visitors to eat out in summer. Although there were quite a few attractions closed for the winter, I didn't let this put me off, and I found plenty to keep me entertained for the week of my stay. I visited Doddington Hall which was dressed for Christmas using a very innovative 'Alice in Wonderland' theme, and I also had a pleasant walk in the gardens and park. I spent two days visiting Lincoln, one day for sightseeing including a guided tour of the Cathedral, and the second day for the Christmas Markets. I also enjoyed a bit of 'antiquing' and would definitely recommend the Hemswell Antiques Centre bases on a disused airfield an easy 40 minute drive from the cottage with a really good restaurant for lunch !
