Designed with walkers in mind, the utility area has plenty of space for muddy coats and boots, as well as providing laundry and additional fridge and freezer facilities. Upstairs are two beautifully presented bedrooms, one of which benefits from a large en-suite which has a freestanding bath, separate shower cubicle and vanity unit with twin basins. The other bedroom is served by the family bathroom. The cottage also benefits from off-road parking, and to the rear there is a delightful terraced garden with two separate patio areas and a summerhouse which enables you to enjoy the garden whatever the weather.
Located along the Cumbrian Way and surrounded by open countryside, the pretty rural hamlet of Gawthwaite is a popular resting place for walkers to take in the peace and quiet as they sit by the little beck that runs through the hamlet. As well as the Cumbrian Way, there are plenty of other walks to be enjoyed including the Old Man of Coniston, Scafell, Elterwater and various Wainwright walks. The area is also great for cycling, with excellent mountain biking at Grizedale Forest, 10 miles away.

Absolutely loved this holiday. The cottage is immaculate the best we have stayed in. You don't need to worry about anything as you have it all and more. We loved the solo powered lights in the garden and the the sun house. The photos really don't do it justice. I had the pleasure of speaking to the owner of the cottage a couple of times she is such a lovely lady she went above and beyond to make sure our stay was an excellent one. Lovely to receive the Easter card, our boys loved the Easter eggs and our little dog got treats too, these were all there on arrival such a nice touch. Also the area is stunning love the lakes and this cottage would definitely return again !!!

We spent a wonderful 4 nights at the cottage. It was equipped with everything we could have needed and finished to such a high standard. Loved the huge en suite and the enclosed garden for our dogs. It is tucked back from the road so read the instructions on how to find it for when you arrive. It was the best cottage I’ve stayed in we loved it and were lucky to have glorious weather the whole week.
