Our second visit to this accommodation and it never disappoints. Beautiful scenery, peace and quiet and a comfortable, well equipped cabin. It’s our idea of heaven. Our two dogs adore the beach side location by the loch too. Hope to visit again soon.

Beautiful location, wonderful hosts, very accommodating and welcoming. Blissful break away with the family. Perfect base for getting wherever you need to go. Midges in August are a bit of a pain, but it didn't impact our enjoyment at all. We didn't miss the tv, neither did the kiddies. Would highly recommend to all. Thank you for an amazing week.

Our expectations were higher than what it was in reality. The cottage was less spacious than I had imagined. And we had not realized that - although it was a really nice and quiet cottage - we were in the middle of a very touristic area (Bonnie Prince Charlie isn't that meaningful to the non-British visitor I'm afraid): we had tourists driving past the cottage (and turning - why so many, we still wonder) all day long. We knew there would be no wifi, but we hadn't anticipated that there would be no internet at all (no reach/coverage in the area). Also, despite that we knew it in advance, we missed TV (special Dutch achievements happening in women football and athletics - should have thought of that when we booked) and washing machine. The shower has only one switch which controls both temperature and strength, so you either have a reasonable strength but cold shower, or a nice warm shower which almost explodes the shower cabin. The location of the cottage is stunning but we couldn't be outside a lot because of the midges. We couldn't find a supermarket closer than 20 miles away which was a bit inconvenient. Having said all that, I'm sure these were mainly personal concerns, and in general I do think that there are a lot of positive points about the cottage! You can enjoy a really family-togetherness (due to lack of the same TV and wifi). Deer are coming right next to the cottage to drink from the lake. The loch, which is amazing, is literally at your doorstep. There are nice mountains around for hiking. The Harry Potter trail is nice. The cottage kitchen is well-equipped, the beds are comfortable. In every single room the paintings are downright kitsch, but you might appreciate even that ;-) There is a woodstove, and wood provided. A great place if you want to forget about everything and enjoy a nice whisky with friends.

It was a beautiful cabin, well equipped and very clean. As another reviewer has stated, it is not as secluded as it comes across in the description and the road literally behind the cabin was busy with cars and motor homes and walkers etc meaning there was little privacy. There was no 'garden' as such and the access down to the loch was very public so again, we did not feel secluded and people were constantly turning around in the driveway. However, a stunning part of the world and we loved the walks and exploring further afield. Duncan was superb at bringing candles very quickly during a short power cut! The only reason we would not return is because we aim to try other areas of the UK or in this instance, another part of bonny Scotland.
