Place hadn’t been cleaned since lockdown. It was damp, crockery was all dirty, floors were filthy, spiderwebs were hanging from the ceiling - which is only 6ft 2 ish high, so no reason not to have cleaned them. Bathroom Extractor fan and heating didn’t work. Lots of work needs to be done to get it up to a basic level - the owners should be ashamed!

The photo is misleading. The dog friendly cottage is the second one. There is no fencing on the garden although we paid £50 xtra for the dogs. The vegetation is so dense now you have to keep the lights on all day.The gutters are blocked with leaves and the down pipe is missing flooding the back. There is black mould in the living room and bathroom. Half the light bulbs were duff and the whirlpool bath did not work. We lost hot water for three days but that is not anyones fault just bad luck. The staff were really nice but they have a way to go to make this competative.

We are always happy here the cottage has everything we need. The place is beautiful and peaceful but has things to do if you want. Mini golf, pedeloes, park, museum and clay play. Plus feeding the birds and lovely cafe. The staff (now friends) go out of their way to be helpful. This is why we love to come here every year.
