The location of the cottage is stunning. We were really pleased with the cleanliness and comfort. We were very lucky with the weather and felt it would of been lovely to have a table and chairs on the patio to eat outside, in addition to the wooden seating provided. However, that’s just a personal view and not a criticism as we really hope to return.

Flowers and cake on arrival a much appreciated surprise. Nicely furnished and decorated cottage. For the price of a little seed (available at the local post office) the local bird population will provide some relaxing entertainment whilst the swallows nesting in the outbuildings add a certain spectacle. Walk up the drive, turn right and you're in the hills; Cwm Nantcol a leisurely one hour walk away. Well placed for access to the breathtaking landscapes of Snowdonia (by steam train if that appeals) and the Llyn Pennisula. The gardens at Portmeirion, Bodnant and Plas Brondanw all within a 30 to 90 minute drive. I could go on about the beaches (a couple of miles away) and castles (Harlech within 20 minutes). This is Wales so be prepared for narrow stone walled single file roads (which are either picturesque or a nightmare depending upon how much traffic you meet coming the other way and whether you're the driver or not). The rain in Wales is almost legendary but then the sea is wet and that doesn't deter beach combing, and when the sun is out the landscapes are breathtaking. Oh and zip wires, and slate caverns, and .... there's lots to do.
