Explore the Kent countryside and visit many towns from this holiday cottage, including Canterbury, Whitstable, Hythe and Dover.

Shared hot tub

Boasting their own private balconies overlooking farmland and with shared use of a hot tub, these two adjoining converted oak barns (refs 29409 and 29410) in the owners’ grounds make an ideal holiday base for exploring the Kent countryside. There is even an on-site massage centre which guests can pay for on arrival. Known as ‘The Garden of England’ with its miles of woodlands and fields, including gardens large and small, visit Sissinghurst and Goodnestone Park, where Jane Austen penned parts of ‘Pride and Prejudice’. Approximately 8 miles from Canterbury, where the cathedral dates back to the 11th century, enjoy a concert, or take a river tour. Whitstable, dubbed the ‘Pearl of Kent’ presents a great opportunity to indulge in sampling oysters for which it is renowned for. Alternatively, visit the port town of Hythe, with its interesting antique shops and fishing along the seafront. Roundwood Hall, for golf, is less than 2½ miles away and there is horse riding at Marberdan Riding Centre, 1 mile. For retail therapy, try McArthur Glen designer outlet, as well as Dover and the Channel Tunnel – both within easy driving distance for a day trip to France. Beach 10 miles. Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant 1 miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with beams. Shower room with toilet. Spiral stairs to first floor: 1 twin bedroom with sloping ceiling.

A warm welcome from Tim was a good start to our short break. The barn was cosy and well equipped. Very comfortable bed and the hot tub was fantastic !! If you’re looking for a boutique experience then this isn’t for you, it has a log cabin feel. But perfect as a cosy retreat from the hustle and bustle of every day life. We had a wonderful three day stay over Christmas and would definitely stay again! Great value too. Thank you 😊

Really loved the garden, it was great for my dogs. Very cosy, really liked the complimentary cake on arrival. Shame we could hear our noisy neighbours through the wall at 6am. Not sure how you can approve that. But will recommend to Friends

Very comfortable and quiet "cottage". The hot tub was good fun and the garden was a lovely, well-enclosed space.

In a lovely peaceful area ,a little too remote for us but we can imagine a lot of people wanting to escape the rat race will like that, its central for driving to a lot of resorts and places of interest and close to Canterbury The garden is lovely and secure ,our dogs enjoyed it ! The hot tub was great and as the other cottage was empty at some points during our week stay so we had it to ourselves .The cottage we found to be very basic and quite small and looks a little "tired" in places .We are walkers and there were lots of footpaths close by.... in other cottages we have stayed there has been lots of info on local walks but there were no maps or walking information here However we had a terrific holiday overall

Beautiful cottage with a fantastic garden. Very therapeutic detox having no WiFi signal and no phone signal. Hot tub an added bonus, plus wine, milk and home made cake. Owners very helpful and approachable. Good situation to explore Kent. I agree with previous comments about size of dog(s) would be fine for 2 small dogs but not larger ones as cottage is cozy.
