generally positive: reason for not repeating a visit to Byre Cottage are more to do with varying locations for breaks than for anything intrinsically wrong with the cottage. As already indicated the cottage was very well equipped, and well placed. A few suggestions intended to be helpful rather than critical: All information on the property might have been better in a thick file, as we found, on arrival , we had to work out ourselves how the TV worked etc. Timetables of buses on Porvillion Road, greater detail of the shuttle bus from the carpark into Fowey, greater detail of the walk to Readymoney cove etc would have been nice in such a file A hook on the conservatory door to hook it to the outside of the building would have been nice. The only dustpan I could find was that kept outside supposedly used for dog poo. A lot of dust and cobwebs had accumulated behind the larger items of furniture in the living room and certain items in the kitchen (such as the washing up bowl) was not as clean as one might have liked. Also the inside of the kitchen bin could have been cleaner We measured the accommodation somewhat against our previous booking near Much Dewchurch, which was absolutely excellent. Neverthess our stay was comfortable and pleasant

Response on behalf of the owner; Thanks for taking the time to make a comment. The information you required was in the information leaflet we sent you prior to your visit, or on the information rack next to the TV or in the red folders. There are two dustpans and brushes in the cupboard next to the front door. My wife agrees with you that I should put a hook on the conservatory door.

This was our third visit to Byre cottage so obviously we are well satisfied with the cottage and location. having a nice conservatory is an added bonus. Fowey is a lovely uncommercialized dog friendly town.

Home from home. Can't complain at all. All the home comforts included. Owner phoned us the day after we arrived to see if we were ok. A great cottage.

The complex was quiet, not many other people staying there. Lovely walk through a wood to Ready Money Cove, and further to Fowey. I thought the cottage was a bit dark, the bathroom was cold, and the bedroom. There was not much room to store food in the kitchen. I had to dust around the TV and table, a lot of dust, also in the conservatory there was a lot of dead insects on the floor. It would have been nice to have more local information in the cottage, I notice that some of it was 8 years out of date. The road is busy and very noisy at times. It is a 15 minute walk down to the harbour, and a hard trek back up the hill. Wi -fi was good, but did not work very well in the bedroom.

Response on behalf of the owner; Sorry you did not enjoy staying at our lovely stone cottage. Old stone cottages are dark that is why we have installed extensive and attractive lighting. They can also be romantic. All the holiday information is provided by Seymac and is for the current year - 2018.
