Llanberis and the other little train up Snowdon is only 6 miles away and the award-winning sandy beach at Dinas Dinlle is 8 miles.
This is a very central location which is ideal for all. Caernarfon has some quirky hidden taverns within the narrow streets, plenty of restaurants within the town walls such as the lovely Mediterranean ‘Osteria Caernarfon’, a European ‘Y Bistro Yn Yr Hebog’ and a beautiful harbour with boat trips to see the isle of Anglesey. There are plenty of things to with the children such as ‘The Fun Centre’ which has a giant play area, a mini museum, laser space sport and plenty more to keep the children entertained for hours! If you’re looking to learn some history just a short walk from the village, following the footpath along the banks of the Glaslyn leads to Beddgelert’s is the most famous historical feature, ’Gelert’s Grave’. According to legend, the stone monument in the field marks the resting place of ’Gelert’, the faithful hound of the medieval Welsh Prince Llewelyn the Great and if you’re just looking to have a walk around and to see some amazing views near Caernarfon it has some amazing walking trails such as the ‘Yr Wyddfa via Llanberis Path and Miners Track’. Try this 14.2-km point-to-point trail near Caernarfon, Gwynedd. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 5 h 43 min to complete.
