Description

Located on the edge of Bodmin Moor, this barn conversion makes for a great holiday home throughout the year.

Buttercups is a lovely, single-storey barn conversion with its own private, enclosed, rear garden with decking and lawn. The living room has a lovely wood burner, making it a super little holiday home throughout the year. The kitchen is well-equipped and includes a chest freezer and washing machine. It is located just on the edge of Bodmin Moor, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the parish of North Hill, the perfect accommodation for couples or a small family looking for a rural and peaceful location. Ideal for walkers wanting to explore the wild and rugged moorland, which is steeped in history. The property is centrally located between the north and south coast, which makes it perfect for exploring the wider region of Cornwall.
The fabulous Sterts outdoor theatre is just a couple of miles away and runs a host of entertainment throughout the year. High up on the moor at Minions, there are the most amazing views stretching for miles with some super viewpoints, such as the Cheesewring and the Hurlers stone circles. The old ruins of Cornish tin mines are still standing and are a reminder of the industrial age. In the little village of North Hill there is a village pub, and at Minions there are a couple of pubs, cafés and a small village shop. lovely peaceful cottage, hard to believe it was next to a farm. very quiet, owners really friendly but not obtrusive. saffron cake was a nice touch, as was milk for a brew! the cottage was comfortable and clean, with all the amenities you would expect. location was excellent, cornish country lanes can be a little hairy at times, but it was a rural setting, so, not much different to where we live anyway. was there a down side? not really, the only comment i would make is that there were no shops/pubs/restaurants within walking distance. just meant forward planning meals, etc. not a problem for us, the quiet of the area was just our cup of tea. overall, an excellent week in a peaceful cornish cottage.

Buttercups is a lovely barn conversion and very comfortable. However it is quite isolated and there is no shop or pub within walking distance, but that was probably my mistake when booking in not checking the exact location better. That is the only real disadvantage. Owners very friendly and always ready to help.

Lovely cottage, nice peaceful location. The owner seems to have thought of everything, including leaving a few very nice Cornish treats for us.

Excellent personalised welcome. Carole , John and Briea were most attentive and very responsive without being intrusive. The accommodation was excellent with every conceivable requirement catered for. My Grandson was very impressed with meeting the ponies and enjoyed the tractor , thank you John. He also liked the special Easter welcome. All in all a very enjoyable break with truly nice people.

Most comfortable and best equipped (even soap and washing up liquid) self catering we have ever stayed in and reasonably priced. Such a pleasant surprise to be welcomed with tea, coffee, fresh milk in fridge, and a beautiful bowl of fresh fruit on the table. Central location ideal for exploring whole of Cornwall. If weather appears bad in one direction head for the opposite coast. We managed to avoid rain every day for a whole week by careful planning. Enjoyed every minute and would certainly book again.

We had a fantastic week in this gorgeous little cottage. It was very clean and fresh, in a beautiful setting, with a brilliant lawn adjoining perfect for football. The fantastic location meant we could reach both north and south beaches and yet it was super quiet and secluded. I would definitely stay there again and definitely recommend it.
