I chose this property for the location which is on a working sheep farm set in 325 acres, the closeness to the sea less than 1 mile and it has high quality fittings. Plus it’s very eco-friendly.

Burton Farm Barns are located on a working sheep and arable farm in the beautiful South Devon countryside in Galmpton, just a 30-minute walk from the picturesque village of Hope Cove with sandy beaches and on the South West Coastal Path. It offers two local pubs which are both situated on the water, and a Post Office/village shop. Formally part of the old barns on the farm, which consisted of The Mill House (ref UK10785), The Piggery (ref UK10786), The Stables (ref UK10788) and The Hayloft (refs UK10787), they have been lovingly restored and refurbished in 2017. They are modern but still retain their charm, plus a few luxuries! All have underfloor heating and wood burners making this ideal for year round holidays. Originally built in the late 1700s, they are set within the farmstead amid 325 acres that make up Burton Farm. The farm grows various crops and cereals along with breeding three pedigree, award-winning flocks of sheep. Visitors are welcome to visit the sheep shed and sometimes able to feed the lambs (by arrangement with owner). Look out for Gert and George, the resident geese, and sit and watch the eight runner ducks which are all so amusing. There is a shared barbecue area in the orchard, a large garden and a children’s play area. The South Hams, with lush rolling countryside and stunning beaches has plenty of things to do come rain or shine.
