Millers Rest is in a peaceful location not far from Bude and other surrounding towns and villages. However, the cottage is tired and needs some work to bring it back up to 4 star. The cottage was not particularly clean with dirty windows, lots of cobwebs, lots of dead flies in the lights and one of the light shades was broken. The TV remote control was broken and did not work very well. The oven controls have lost all of their numbers and writing making it hard to see what temperature it is on and which gas hob is which. The oven was very slow to heat up. There has obviously been a leak from the dishwasher at some point as the kickboard is rotten. The internet was so slow it was almost unusable and this also meant that the TV we could watch was also limited and sometimes did not respond. Tumble drier did not work, towels in for an hour came out as wet as when they went in. There was also an issue with flies outside which meant we could not air the cottage and have the windows and door open. We opened them once and had about 20 flies buzzing around. Beds were comfortable. Cake was a pleasant treat when we arrived. Pictures on the website are not a great reflection of the property now.

Loved the cottage and the lovely owners. the view/garden/house is just all you need and more. Will be staying again. Easy short trip to Widemouth or Bude and Rebel Cinema just along the road is great.
