This spacious detached bungalow, rated 4* by Visit England, offers a large lawned garden and is located just a few minutes’ walk from the Longdendale Valley and Bottoms Reservoir with its fascinating history. The Trans Pennine Trail is on the edge of Glossop and just a 10 minutes’ drive from the Peak District National Park. The surrounding area holds a wealth of amenities and attractions, including shops, restaurants and traditional pubs serving food, all within walking distance. There are no shortages of cultural experiences, and places to eat and drink in Glossop itself, and the original village, now known as Old Glossop, is a peaceful area of green fields and stone cottages huddled around the old church and cross.
Further afield you have the spa town of Buxton, which is famous for its diverse architecture and Opera House, and the show caves around the beautiful honeypot village of Castleton, both of which can be reached in around 30 minutes. The National Trusts Lyme Park is also around half an hour, and the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, together with the ever popular market town of Bakewell can be reached in around 45 minutes. Matlock and Matlock Bath with its cable car ride to the Heights of Abraham is around 1 hour away. For guests who prefer the bright lights and facilities that a big city has to offer, Manchester is a 40-minute drive away, or only 30 minutes on a train direct from Glossop. Shop ¼ mile, pub and restaurant 165 yards.
