It was ok, did find hair in my breakfast bowl (dark should have been noticed). The cutlery tray needed a good clean and there were alot of cobwebs. which should have been noticed. Bedroom blind could not really be raised as the window looked straight into the pub, not very private. Location was good for visiting the area. It was ok for the couple of days we spent there, couldn't have done a long stay.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for sharing this review. The cottages are situated within the grounds of our pub and the rear view windows overlook it, with a blind and curtains, however the front view of the cottages is of the Mendip hills. This is the first time a guest has commented on this aspect. We’re disappointed in these comments as we pride ourselves on the cleanliness of the cottages, we are sorry we missed a stray hair in an otherwise clean crockery cupboard. The cutlery trays are showing signs of wear, which can make them look a little worn, we will look to replace them. We are sorry these guests were disappointed as all our cottages have many returning visitors.

On arrival Ian told us that Old Orchard cottage had a problem with the oven so he had changed us to Mendip View Cottage. This suited us so well, views across to the sheep in the field opposite, a very cosy, welcoming cottage with everything spotlessly clean. Nothing was too much trouble for Ian, if we had a problem he was easily contacted. It was a really welcome break in a very pretty place and a charming relaxing cottage. Wookey village was right on our doorstep, the villagers themselves were delightful, the church very welcoming too.

Stayed over Christmas. It was a wonderful location and the facilities were of a reasonable standard but I must say the only downside to this was that the sofas were quite old and dated and had no back support whatsoever. We ended up having to lay the sofa cushions on the floor then sitting on the them and so leaning on the front foot guard of the sofa to be able to try and relax. Otherwise generally ok. If the furniture were updated we would definitely visit again

Orchard Cottage is a small but perfectly formed cottage in a great location in Wookey - near the Caves, Cheddar and walkable to two nice pubs. The owners of the pub and cottages are very welcoming and we enjoyed our stay here.
