One of the best holiday cottages that we've stayed in. Well equipped, modern and spacious. A very tasteful barn conversion in lovely countryside. A downstairs bedroom and ensuite for my Grandad-in-law. An enclosed garden so that we could let our toddlers outside without worry. We would recommend this cottage without hesitation and if we get the opportunity we would love to come back.

Response on behalf of the owner; It was so lovely to hear the children playing in the garden, the weather enabled them to enjoy the large outdoor space and I think seeing the cows were a great hit too. It was our pleasure to have you all here and we would hope to see you again in the future, thank you for choosing Buckland Barn as your holiday cottage.

We stayed at this property as a party of 10 with an age range from 68 to 13. We have stayed in many holiday rentals over the last 15 years and this was one of the best. The property was modern, clean and extremely well equipped with excellent quality kitchen appliances. All bedrooms were of a good size with ensuite facilities and we have no complaints regarding the beds, we all slept very well. We were very fortunate with the weather so the beautiful outside space was used often and was ideal for the bbq. The owners were friendly and helpful, with lots of information on where to visit locally. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property wholeheartedly.

We had a great family holiday with 3 generations. The house was perfect for us with plenty of space and a fabulous kitchen. The rooms are larger than they appear on the photos and very comfortable. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

The place was lovely, just needed bigger pans, serving spoons and more than one wooden spoon would be have been good. Did need hooks in the shower rooms that would stay up as they were only stick on ones, other than that we thought the place was amazing.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Only a few days prior to our customers arrival Buckland Barn went through its annual regrading review of which it once again achieved the highest accolade of 5* for it's comfort, quality and facilities. The barn has no less than 9 saucepans of assorted sizes including at least 3 large. In addition there are several plastic and metal utensils as well as a 96 piece set of cutlery. If the party had mentioned they needed more when we checked that all was okay and to there liking, we would of course have been happy to supply more.

This is a lovely holiday home although a little off the beaten track. The accommodation is spacious and clean. The owners are welcoming and friendly. They have included some lovely details to make it feel like home from home, e.g. fresh flowers. The bedroom arrangements makes it very suitable for adult or family groups including babies and children over 2. Not suitable for toddlers as there are quite a few sets of steps. Otherwise, absolutely brilliant. I wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback, we work really hard to maintain the property to a high standard. Buckland Barn is a converted barn; it has some quirky features which include a small step down to bedroom 1 and a small step to bedroom 2. The majority of our guests are family groups with toddlers and small children and have found the property most suitable. We look forward to you returning in the future.

The cottage is beautiful. We were a party of 12 ranging from ages 84 to 7 months; there was plenty of space for all of us inside and out. Each room had a bathroom fitted with shower and toilet so privacy was never a problem. There was everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay. The kitchen was well kitted out, the living room was incredibly comfortable and each bedroom was spacious with lovely bedding making night times lovely and cosy. Criticisms we had were keeping windows open invited flies presumably from the cow field at the back of the house so nights could be quite stuffy. This could be rectified by fly mesh on the windows. With a 2 year old, a double buggy for twin babies, and an 84 yr old with a walker, we couldn't walk anywhere as the cottage really is in the middle of nowhere. This is perfect for those looking for seclusion or a walking holiday. We had to pack everyone in the car if we wanted to go anywhere, however this did mean that we came across some beautiful places...Hartland for one. Overall an amazing place, fitted out with everything you could want and in a beautiful location.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: We are really please that you enjoyed your stay and liked all the local attractions near by. It is worth knowing that Buckland Barn is fitted with an air ventilation system in every room and air vents on every window, if only we were aware of your difficulty we would turned the heating down for you which may of made your stay more comfortable, We hope to see you again. Dale and Cathy
