This property is part of our Welsh Country Cottages collection

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above..

Enjoy a luxury retreat in this charming detached barn conversion set within 26 acres of grounds, and complete with its own private hot tub.

Set within the stunning Ceredigion countryside, these luxurious holiday homes have been recently (May 2018) completed by the owners who have created three individually designed properties with their own unique style and flair. They have been finished to the highest standard with luxury kitchens and bathrooms. Each has their own enclosed garden and super hot tub; something to luxuriate in whatever the weather!
Derwen, Welsh for Oak, (ref UKC3450) is a beautiful barn conversion with exposed beams and has a sleek kitchen/dining room leading to a spacious living room. The oak staircase leads to two first floor en-suite bedrooms, one with flexibility to be a twin or super kingsize, and the other with a kingsize bed. Bedwen, Welsh for Birch, (ref UKC3451), a perfect romantic getaway for two with exposed stonework and beams, has a classy open plan kitchen, dining and living space with a cosy wood burner and a separate kingsize bedroom with en-suite shower and toilet. Onnen, Welsh for Ash, (ref UKC342) is a lovely open plan design cottage with a stunning feature pallet wall and French doors leading to the garden and hot tub. There is a separate toilet on the ground floor, and upstairs there are two bedrooms which share a family bathroom. If you are bringing your pet on holiday, Onnen and Bedwen are pet friendly, there is even a little bit of luxury for them in the form of a heated dog wash facility! All of the properties also have access to an electric car charging point and a shared laundry room with washing machines and tumble dryer. The properties are situated within 26 acres of the owners’ grounds and they live adjacent. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area and you will almost certainly hear the owls hooting at night!
A short drive will bring you to the magnificent beach at Ynyslas, just north of Borth. There are three miles of stunning golden beach and boardwalks leading through the sand dunes. It is a fabulous place for walking, picnics or windsurfing and is part of the Dyfi National Nature Reserve, home to many rare plants and animals. In the summer the dunes transform into a colourful carpet of wild flowers including many rare types of orchid.
The Victorian seaside town Aberystwyth is 10 minutes’ drive away and here you can find lots of shops, cafés, and restaurants as well as the pier and promenade. The electric cliff railway to the summit of Constitution Hill offers the most magnificent views over Cardigan Bay which you can enjoy as you tuck into coffee and cake. Being a university town there is a large arts centre and you may catch a show or visit the cinema. Why not enjoy a ride on a steam train on the Vale of Rheidol Railway to the famous Devil’s Bridge, first built by monks in the 11th century? A walk down to see the plunging waterfalls is a must. Whatever your preferences for sight-seeing in this beautiful and dramatic area, you will have luxury to return to each day at Bryngwyn Canol. Beach 4¼ miles. Shop 1¾ miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Had a lovely stay at this cottage, we didn't want to leave! The design of the cottage was beautiful, modern but cosy - house goals!! The little added extras made the holiday extra special. The owners are right there ready to help. The surroundings are so quiet and peaceful and not far from Aberystwyth town. I can't wait to book again. Thanks for an amazing couple of days :)

Had a wonderful stay at Derwen. Beautifully designed and furnished to a very high spec making it comfortable & luxurious. The House opens out onto a courtyard with 2 other properties and the owners home so it feels very communal. There is no access to the garden from the rear of the property but only a short path from the front door around to the huge hot tub in the back which was fabulous after a long day at the beach. Everything is well maintained and it's a really lovely home from home. Will happily visit again. Borth and Aberystwyth beaches are less than 10mins away in the car and lots of places to eat and explore nearby.

It's very hard to find fault with the cottage. The owners have done a wonderful conversion job and the small complex is pretty and very well fitted out. Where we've marked the holiday down is the local facilities. The only near shop is a poorly stocked Spar. There's a Nisa in Borth and bigger shops in Aberystwyth. There are no good restaurants nearby either. Borth is ok but the best beach by far is north of Borth in Ynyslas. Despite the lack of local facilities, we'd still go back. The premium price reflects the quality of the cottage and the accommodation was spacious and beautifully presented.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your review and we’re so pleased that you enjoyed the cottage; we strive hard to ensure our guests are comfortable. It does state in the description that the nearest pub and restaurant is 2 miles and the shop for daily essentials is 1.75 miles away. Aberystwyth is a 10 minute drive where you will find a large array of amenities and shops, including three major supermarkets. Guests are also welcome to pre-order their shopping online for delivery to the cottage during their stay. We are situated in an idyllic peaceful spot close to the Ceredigion coastline and are so pleased you discovered the lovely sand dunes and wide sandy beach at Ynyslas. We’re glad you’d choose to come back and look forward to welcoming you to Bryngwyn Canol again in the future.
