Brookfield is a terraced three storey house 1min stroll from the centre of Ambleside. The house is equipped to a high standard, comfortable, clean and spacious. We found it an excellent base for our weekend away. The beds were extremely comfortable and with two clean and functionable bathrooms the house offers flexible and considered accommodation. The only real issue is the second staircase is rather steep if you have accessibility problems. We found it no problem. Views of the fells from the top two bedrooms are great. All in all would highly recommend.

We had a great holiday ,well appointed and equipped, just a few steps to shops and pubs. Great for a group of 6 adults or family with teenage children. Beds are comfortable with orthapaedic mattresses. However it was not as clean as I expect for four star accomodation and there were very noisy neighbours partying until the eay hours accross the road ( student house ? ) all day and into the early hours. All kitchen / bathroom equipment seem suited to tall people with large appetites. Second floor stairs unsuitable for children where the twin beds are ! Not as good as a three star, I have been in before .Lounge area ,tight squeeze for 6 but dining area is great. Outside space disappointing and dirty with weeds 3 foot high and not enough seating for six.

2 bathrooms, unfortunately the shower in the small bathroom didn't work. Maybe a freezer in the kitchen would have been nice rather having to go down into the cellar. Everything else was really good. Literally 2 minutes walk, and you are right in the middle of the town.
