The weather was hot and dry all week so that helped, outside table and chairs, lots of garden, ideal for max of six adults and two children (bunk beds). Very comfortable, fridge only just big enough, huge dining table to seat all. Handy for two local pubs, very friendly. A little close to main road although got used to traffic noise. Excellent walks straight from bungalow. Good views from house, lots of light pouring in from all directions although still private, fields either side.

Very comfortable and clean holiday cottage with comfy beds and sofas, well equiped kitchen. We ordered a Tesco delivery so would have appreciated a larger fridge at the start of the week to store our fresh food but there was a freezer and plenty of cupboard space. Also a radio in the kitchen might have been a nice addition but there was a TV with blueray DVD in the lounge. Plenty of space including a large dining table and an outside table. Lovely views in all directions, easy lakeside walks and mountain walks straight from the door. Church, shop and pub a short walk away, and Coniston only about 5 minutes drive. Would recommend.

What a lovely cottage close to the pub for that evening strole. The welcome pack was great after our long journey, my son loved the hot chocolate. The bedrooms were clean and tidy my son particularly liked the bunk beds and thought they were a castle. Our day trips out from the cottage to Coniston and Windermere were fantastic only taking between 20-30 mins in the car.

Our party of six adults thoroughly enjoyed staying at Brookfield. A quality property with a high standard of furnishings and equipment, we particularly appreciated the extremely clean bedrooms and comfortable beds. We had a wet and windy week and it was a pleasure to return to the warm, spacious cottage after long walks. The local pub and deli are two minutes walk away and are recommended. All in all a superb property to use as a base for exploring the Lake District.
