Situated in a quiet area of Blaenau Ffestiniog yet close to the town centre, this terraced cottage is ideal for exploring the area.

Perched high above Blaenau Ffestiniog, this holiday cottage is situated in a quiet residential terrace in the aptly named Summerhill area, but within a few minutes’ walk of the town centre, with its variety of shops, pubs and eateries. Wake up in the morning to stunning views over the mountains and surrounding countryside and in the evening relax in the terraced garden. The cottage is ideal for couples who enjoy walking, with several footpaths leading directly onto the mountains from the front door, and for your four legged friends dog towels and bowls are provided. Blaenau Ffestiniog is renowned as being the former ‘slate capital of Wales’ with a strange, compelling beauty. It is also fast becoming one of Britain’s premier outdoor centres, boasting a range of activities from walking to fishing, horse riding, climbing and kayaking, and even inland surfing all nearby. Guests can glimpse into the unique history of the area at the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, with the Deep Mine Tour. This is also the home of Zip World Titan, Zip World Caverns and Bounce Below - the trampolines in the slate caverns. Also based at Llechwedd are the Antur Stiniog bike trails ranging from blue to black grades. For those in need of a more peaceful life, try the famous narrow-gauge Ffestniog Railway, with a beautiful steam train journey through stunning scenery down to Porthmadog, maybe disembarking at Minffordd Station to visit Portmeirion, the famous Italianate village. This cottage is also a great base for Snowdon, Betwys-y-Coed, the west Wales coast and Lleyn Peninsula. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your review. I'm sorry you found the bed uncomfortable, I hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday. However, the comfort of a bed is very subjective - my husband cant wait to visit the cottage because he much prefers the bed there to the one we've got at home.

We enjoyed a great few days at Bron Haul. It was warm, clean and supplied with tea, coffee, milk and wine which was a great bonus. Not the prettiest of villages but historically very interesting and the walk right up to the very top of the deserted slate mine is well worth a visit. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area. The parking was a bit tight especially if you have a van or big car, otherwise a thoroughly good break.

Lovely cottage, beautiful view from bedroom over the mountains. Good location for a variety of places of interest. You do need a car. A dishwasher would have made it perfect
