This property is part of our English Country Cottages collection

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

In a beautiful stunning setting, this semi-detached cottage boasts two wood burners and use of delightful 35-acre grounds.

Located in the pretty Coquet Valley, these four luxury cottages are situated on a historic site containing the Brinkburn Estate and Priory. Bel House (ref UKC14) used to be the lodge keepers house and is attached to Mullins House (ref UKC2971), both Grade II listed and ideal for small families, they are located adjacent to the B6344. The Stables (ref UKC12) and Priory Cottage (ref UKC13) are down a private drive, the first half of which is tarmac, the second an unmetalled road. Renovated throughout, The Stables nestles in a stunning setting next to the River Coquet adjacent to the priory and its grounds. It is ideal for family and friends. Priory Cottage is attached to The Stables, a cosy property sleeping two people with its own entrance and seating area. Retaining much charm and character, it’s the perfect cottage for couples. Bel House is also suitable for family or friends. It has its own south-facing garden and separate entrance. Once a detached property, this has now grown into a terraced cottage, which along with the barns and some outbuildings, makes up Brinkburn Home Farm, where the owner’s office and home is located.
The cottages each provide complimentary dressing gowns, toiletries and welcome packs, making your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. They are set within 35 acres of private woodland and countryside, with access to woodland walks directly from the door and river fishing, 500 yards £20 daily. Dedicated off road parking is available for each property.
These unusual, historical properties provide the perfect getaway for families and friends, and celebration packages for birthdays and anniversaries are available, including a private chef, pampering and beauty packages, all bespoke, on request and at cost arranged directly with the owner. Each property is furnished differently, and maintains character with imaginatively styled attention to detail throughout. Many period features have been retained in these listed buildings with luxury bathrooms and contemporary open-plan kitchen and living areas. The priory is managed by English Heritage and is open between 10am and 5:30pm Thursday - Monday between Easter and October. When it’s closed, guests are welcome to wander the grounds at their leisure.
Located in the heart of Northumberland, Brinkburn Cottages are perfect for exploring the Coquet Valley, the Dark Skies of the National Park, the coast with beautiful golden beaches, many castles and historic landmarks. Beach 8 miles. Shop 2¾ miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
The Stables (UKC12) adjoins Priory Cottage (UKC13) and they can be booked together to accommodate up to 9 guests, when an additional large patio will also be available.

We had a wonderful couple of days in the Stables. It is in a truly unique location and the quality of the interior is exceptional. We are looking to book again.

What a fantastic place. Very clean, spacious and elegant. All the extras like washing up liquid, tea towels, wash powder included. We spent 4 nights here and were able to truly relax. Wifi is unusable and 4g and phone signals are patchy. This turned into a blessing in encouraging the kids to find other things to do.

We had a lovely, relaxing time at the stables. Everything about the house was perfect. It was so clean, comfortable and in a beautiful setting. We would love to return.

A wonderful location, in a beautiful setting. It was perfect for our family celebration in that it allowed us a secluded and private setting. The staff were so helpful and provided support to cover all our needs, including the private chef! Amazing!!
