Situated on the fringe of The Lake District National Park and only 2½ miles to Cockermouth makes it the perfect base. The contemporary interior and décor is beautiful and with the open plan design it’s the ideal social space to spend with family and friends. The master bedroom with kingsize bed also boasts a dressing area and en-suite bathroom with bath and shower whilst there is also a twin room and separate shower room. The living room has comfortable sofas and a large Freeview TV so if the weather isn’t kind you will be kept entertained. Outside there is a wrap around decking with ample outdoor seating and is a real sun trap from morning till night so the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee or an evening glass of wine!
This is an excellent base from which to explore the Northern Lakes and the west coast of Cumbria. The village of Great Broughton is just a mile away with several pubs and a village shop. There is easy access to beautiful scenery, fantastic walks, and picturesque landscapes as well as being just a few miles from the vibrant market town of Cockermouth with an abundance of speciality shops, coffee houses, restaurants and attractions. Visit Wordsworth House for a spot of culture, or maybe Jennings Brewery beneath the castle walls which offers tasting tours. Kirkgate Arts provides a cinema and theatre performances.
If you love the Lakes you are in easy reach of Bassenthwaite Lake with stunning scenery and an abundance of wildlife including red squirrels, buzzards and osprey to the east. Or drive south and you’ll reach Loweswater which connects to Crummock Water and Buttermere, arguably one of the most picturesque areas of Cumbria for breathtaking scenery. Whether you’re looking for rugged adventure or just a peaceful walk, this is a beautiful area to explore, and for family fun a great day out can be had at The Lake District Wildlife Park with over 100 species of animals at Bassenthwaite, 10 miles, or Go Ape, a tree top adventure at Whinlatter Forest, also home to some brilliant cycling trails, is just 9 miles.
