A cosy place to retreat after a day’s walking in the gorgeous Swaledale countryside. The cottage retains traditional features with open stonework, exposed roof trusses and beautiful, reclaimed pine floorboards. The property is upside down in design, with a light filled, well-equipped open plan living/dining/kitchen on the first floor. The window seat is a perfect place to sit and take in the views of the village and pretty beck outside, and the gorgeous wood burner is perfect to cosy up in front of on a winter’s night. Downstairs you will find the tastefully decorated double bedroom and bathroom with roll-top bath. To the front of the cottage is an enclosed gravelled garden with a bench, which makes the perfect little spot to enjoy your morning coffee and sit and enjoy the relaxing, peaceful setting before setting out on your day’s adventures.
Situated within a short drive of Reeth, Gunnerside is ideally placed for outdoor enthusiasts with fantastic walking in Swaledale, the most northerly and beautiful of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Many walks can be taken direct from the door, including the old lead mine up Gunnerside Ghyll and Upper Swaledale following from Healaugh to Tan Hill including Angram, Ivelet, Feetham, Keld, Low Row, Muker, Satron and Thwaite. There is a small village tea room and local pub within a few strides serving local ales and food. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 50 yards.
